1950 Chevy 3100 Truckespo replied to dougwintz's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial I like the work truck theme and the understated color. The wheels almost look like a VW wheel based on the vents.

Baywatch Rangerespo replied to spencer1984's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Very nicely done and the home made decals look perfect. The only aside might be the license plate. In California such a vehicle would usually have an "E" plate. The E would have been in a triangle at the start of the plate number to show that it was owned by a municipality of some sort. Very nice paint job on this.

1949 Mercury Pickup Conversionespo replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Great looking conversions. As always perfect weathering. I remember see cars like this in the '60's that had been done in a similar manor. The back of the "cab" was usually done in plywood.

Revell has both the SS and a regular Impala that have been out for a while. AMT had a '62 Impala SS annual years ago and has had the Convert. SS reissued several times. The best '62 AMT offered, at least in my opinion, was the Bel Air two door hardtop. They all offered different versions of the 409 engine.

Unique voice and timing. Always enjoyed his music. I hope his life was as great as his music.

Revell Broncoespo replied to JTRACING's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial I like the water bottle on the dash. I remember more of these looking like this than the show trucks you see at Mecum.

Revell 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi - Top Banana - Build #1espo replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars Beautiful paint job and well detailed. I have not had a chance to build this but from the photos it would seem that the body proportions are perfect.

Beautiful build. I also watched your build and the body conversion. The body turned out perfect. Great paint and detailing.

That looks perfect to me. I had several friends that had WWII era Jeeps in the mid '60's and most were stone stock with a "Earl" paint job. We crawled all over the Forestry Service roads in the San Bernardino mountains. This build looks just like those Jeeps.

1965 Chevy Stepsideespo replied to maltsr's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Great looking build and the subdued color choice with the Red interior really makes it stand out.

That looks perfect and I like the outdoor setting. I haven't built this kit but after seeing your build I think I should. The color you picked is a match for our '10 Charger RT so you know I like that.

Beautiful clean build. Always great to see someone honor the originals as they were.

I like your idea of just a clean slightly modified build. A thought on the paint and only if I fits with your vision. Hurst Corp. did a lot of modified Olds back in the day and part of that was some additional paint treatments in Black or a contrasting color. They would use the bodies chrome moldings as a dividing line and paint the Hood and top of the Fenders Black or another color and use the molding to end the color where it ends at the top of the side window openings. I also have seen a similar treatment on the Trunk Lid again following the moldings where they loop around the top of the rear window.

'58 Fairlane 500 Semi-Custom! Finished at Last!espo replied to John Goschke's topic in WIP: Model Cars I'm glad to see you are back on this restoration. I noticed some excellent mountings for the interior and the rear window mountings give me an idea for a build I'm working on now. I was having a hard time figuring out how to mount the rea window and side windows on a resin body. Your pictures clearly show how to do that, thank you thank you.

Great looking build. You mentioned the Mustang side emblems that were deleted on the Shelbys, by just painting over them as you did they really aren't noticeable in the photograph. The only thing I would suggest and only if it even matters to you is the photo shows a white convertible boot and the model depicts a blue boot. Again only if it makes a difference to you since it doesn't really take anything away from your build in my mind.

Look forward to any updates on this build. Outstanding work on the wagon and especially the boat.

Great color combination and the finish is perfect. I like your idea of hinging the trunk and hood from the side since you're going with the Low Rider theme .

Chopped 'n' Dropped Deuce Highboy - Updated 11-28espo replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Model Cars The chop looks perfect, not overdone.

It looks like you have the basic De Soto body pretty well sorted out. On the engine you might look at any of the later MoPar kits with the 383/440 engine that could easily be made to look like the De Soto engine. As for the 2-4 set up I think any inline 2-4 set up from say even a Hemi could be modified. I did something on this order on the AMT '58 Plymouth and used the 2-4 set up from the AMT '57 Chrysler 300C. This included the unique air cleaners also so it looked very real in that application.

1980 Jeep J10 Honchoespo replied to bogger44's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Great looking build. I like it better in black also. Amazing how a few touches under the hood wake up the engine compartment.

Your color choice really shows the body lines nicely. Great job on the chrome foil, those wheel well openings are a bear and yours look perfect.

Very nice well detailed build. I like the murals under the hood and trunk lid.

Your two builds really capture the appearance of the 1:1 Citation. As Ace-Garageguy pointed out these vehicles in the real world had their short comings. I drove a new X-11 with a manual on two occasions. The Torque Steer when shifting under hard acceleration was down right dangerous. Going up a long on ramp I shifted into 3rd and the car almost changed lanes on me. You could be driving at 50 mph plus and feel the steering wheel turn left on acceleration and right on deceleration.
