Glade to see an appreciative person like yourself who will treasure and preserve this model in memory of another respected builder.

Speaking of TV programing, I sometimes have to watch reruns of some of the programs on Velocity and Kin Dig It especially they seem to play this "back ground music" that is actually at the same volume as the people talking in the show. I don't remember it being their if I watch at the normal programing time only when it is a rerun. I don't know if Velocity is thinking this will enhance my viewing experience or if someone in their audio staff is trying to justify their existence.

I don't know which is worst the talking owl or the people who talk to them. Most TV ads are amusing the first couple of times, then you realize its time to see what is on another channel just so you don't have to see the same ad over and over.

Fun with Fooseespo replied to jackdog's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial That's a novel idea with the decals. I like the steel wheels. Did you change anything on the Foose chassis ?

Try using a simple wooden tooth pick to get the sediment stirred up. Then you can start shaking the bottle by what ever means you choose. I have a Hobby Paint Shaker that I have had for a long time. I got it from Micro Mart and just use a rubber band to hold the bottle on its side. This works very quickly and minimal mess.

Polishing Compound Preferences?espo replied to Dodge Driver's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers I have been using the Tamiya compounds for several years and have always been satisfied. They offer three grades of polish. I'll sometimes use Novus #1 as a finel step and it helps to remove any of the polishing residue.

Good looking car and a great color. Hard to think that is 1/43 scale.

Revell 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum - Hemi Orange - Build #3espo replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars Those are all great looking builds. Now you just have to build two more, Panther Pink and Plum Crazy, or are those the Plymouth names I never could keep them straight. I do enjoy looking at your builds as they always look great.

My ford f-100espo replied to modelbomber's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Great looking honest work truck. I like that you used some of the kits tools and engine in the bed.

I think you idea to wet sand the body and give it another color coat will be best. While I like these paints the amount of metallic in the paint makes them tend to come out a little rough. I would suggest trying a couple of light clear coats even though they say it isn't needed. The clear might help fill some of the low spots from the blue finish and then your polishing the clear instead of the blue.

Great looking build of one of Chryslers best body styles ever.

I agree the stance is just the way I'd want it if it was in my driveway. Not usually a color green lover but that looks great. Dumpy Dan's comment on the time made me laugh. Ant time you can get on the work bench is the right time.

I have always thought this would be an interesting subject to build. Just a couple of weeks ago the TV program Wheeler Dealer redid one and added the third rear wing per the original designer of the body style. You might look for it on the Web if you feel you need any addition inspiration. I'll enjoy watching what all you do with this build.

" Trust your car to the man who wears the star " Texaco had a great slogan at that time. Enjoyed looking at these old ads and except for the Mustang it looks like this could have been early Green Screen technology. I agree that the scene with the Mustang at the pumps getting gas looks as though the rear of the body shrunk or something. The on the road scene were the giant lifts the hood is very Green Screeny to me.

Back when this was a fairly new kit they included the "glass" for the rear windows on both the Carson top and the Victoria roof. I think the very first issues had a stock Victoria roof also but at that time customization was the big thing as indicated by the optional front and rear body parts and part of that was the chopped top so we had an option of a Convertible both stock and chopped, a chopped top with a rear quarter roof or a full Carson top. Included also was a stock height Victoria top and a chopped Victoria top. Man those were the days, the hardest part was figuring out how you wanted to build the kit.

Very nice little custom, I like the interior treatment.

Great looking build, very well detailed. On the taillight issue you might try some chrome foil behind the tail lights.

Looks great. With a car like that I'd loose my license so fast.

I have always had the best luck with the Tamiya Clear and have never had any problems with time lines. Great looking Thunder Bolt.

You know I bet a guy could sell those.

I got a Resin '51 Ford tudoor from Star Models but I just haven't gotten around to building it. I have owned 2 different '51 1:1 tudoors years ago and also wanted to replicate one of those cars. The Victoria came out in late in the '51 model year. Ford offered a model called the Crestline which added a sweeping side molding from the front fender to just behind the front door where it connected to the standard side molding. Remember very early on GM came out with a tudoor hardtop and Ford didn't have anything until '51 to compete so they offered the Crestline. I have built a Resin '51 Crestline and they really look great with the tutone paint and vinyl roof. Besides the grill area the dash is the biggest difference between the '49 thru '51. That would be the hardest part of the conversion. The '51's also had concealed trunk hinges and the '49's and most '50's they are on top of the trunk and the panel between the trunk and the rear window. also starting in '50 they had a small "brow" over the license plate that had the latch and light for the license plate. The '49's had a chrome handle affair with the right side being the latch handle and the left side being used to lift the trunk lid. The Resin body of the '51 I got from star looks right on and the dash board looks perfect to me so that maybe a place to start for a tudoor. I either of you start one of these please post them here as I would enjoy watching your builds.

This and the '49 Ford coupe are a couple of my all time favorites. As a child my parents had a black '49 four door. The one thing that has always made me wonder about the reissues is the Victoria hardtop is gone. The original and a few of the early reissues had the option of a chopped Victoria hardtop that would use the chopped windshield that is in this kit. I did one years ago and redid it in '08 and got a first place in a Custom Themed model show. I always look for someone to cast one in Resin but no luck so far. If anyone knows of someone casting the Victoria roof either stock or chopped I would appreciate someone letting me know.
