Beautiful build. Great color and interior combination. Just like the 1:1 car, these make great cruisers.

Great looking build. The wheels are period perfect for the early '70's. A note on the mirrors. The easiest way to know which side the mirrors should be mounted. The mirrors are offset to one side of the support arm. The greatest offset would be away from the car. What the designers were trying to do is to give the driver the greatest field of vision away from the sides of the vehicle, so they had the side of the mirror closest to the body would be the closest to the upright support.

Very creative engine and induction systems. With the dark green color you don't see the parting line for the roof to come off. Very nice looking interior. With the yellow frame you can see just how much you channeled the body. I like the wheels and especially the rear tires.

Look real close at the two different engines and see if one has a manual transmission and one a Power glide transmission. While not mentioned in the instructions they did the same thing on the Black Widow kits.

That is a great looking Kustom. Your build looks like the early post war customs you used to see in the "little pages".

Perfect representation of one of Ford better ideas. As I recall these cars all looked like they were going uphill when new. I think you captured it perfectly.

Good to know, as much as I like the show its self his actions are really hard to watch. I'm afraid what happens all to often in the automotive centric programs is that the director/writers want a lot of drama and for someone who watches because they enjoy automobiles in general it just gets frustrated the way they make the actors carry on for no good reason.

New Plastic @ Hobby Lobbyespo replied to bandit1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars) I noticed the MSRP on the Suburban kit at $29.95 is $5.00 more than what I paid last month at the local hobby shop. With the 40 % of coupon it will be less but not really 40 %.

'65 Chevy C-10 Stepsideespo replied to IJ001's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Looks great. I like the "work horse" theme, most of these trucks were worked to death and never really appreciated for their service.

72 Chevy tow truckespo replied to mchook's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Very realistic looking bed and tow boom. I like his latest tow, how fitting.

Did you check the directory on this site ??

Beautiful looking build. Very realistic looking build of a much under appreciated car.

This kit is based off of the AMT '72 Nova SS kit. They shared the basic body but with different front sheet metal much as they did in real life. The fitment problems go back to the Nova kit that had the Drag Racing option. The fenders are not part of the body and are very difficult to align. The front wheel base is also questionable. There is a very nice resin body of the Ventura II based off of the Nova kit if this one becomes to difficult to get the front end right. It is a one piece body with the grills molded in place.

These look like the same vents on different cars and as others have pointed out they are recessed into the fender. The vents differ from year model to year model. Depending on how perfect they must be you might search some MoPar sites for more detailed information. The only reason I even know this much is that I sometimes watch Grave Yard Cars and the M.C. covered this very subject on a car they were working on. While more than a little arrogant and full of himself he does seem to know about everything and every detail on MoPars from that era.

1966 Chevy El Caminoespo replied to YBlock292's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial Very clean sharp looking build. You can leave the door handles off that is still a style today on some 1:1 builds.

The only orange color that stands out in my mind for 1969 was the Hugger Orange, I had a '69 Camaro painted that color , if you're looking for a burnt orange color Testors has a couple in their Lacquer series and they are great products and easy to use. Just an after thought on the contrasting color, have you thought of doing Carbon Fiber instead of black ??

I just got done reading about this years TROG in the latest Hot Rod Deluxe, This looks just as if it should have just a very small touch if wet sand on it and it could of been anyone of the cars there. You definitely captured the look.

You may have discovered a new way to weather white walls. The body oxidation especially on the radiator shell looks perfect. I like the oil film on the front of the engine also. I can almost feel the heat and smells coming thru the floor boards now. Great looking build.

	Your updates look great.

Man that is bright. My photo gray glasses are still adjusting. When I got down to the photo of the chassis and roll bars is when I see just how much effort you put into what you seldom get to see. This is really a beautiful build.

I really like the overall look. The paint is outstanding. The contrast if the green colored Buick engine and the red body makes you really notice the engine. Your question on the fuel delivery system is that it was done many different ways way back when. The way you went with the fuel rails is probably the neatest and most practical. Some times they would mount a single fuel block on the firewall and run clear fuel lines to each carb. That may be were the term firewall came from. With six carbs. it would have been common to use an electric fuel pump because of the additional fuel pressure required to feed all the carbs. The factory mechanical fuel pumps of that era usually had around 10 lbs. max. pressure and that wouldn't have been enough. I wouldn't sweat the small stuff, the model looks great as is.

I like your idea especially the Orange color. In the photo it looks as if the black on the hood is a gloss rather than a flat black. While the two colors contrast nicely some times people go over board and the car starts looking like a Pumpkin. Just saying it's a hard balance. What shade of orange are you thinking ??

The dash board is really nice. I couldn't tell you what gage it is but I think you're correct about the "opening" to the left is in fact a gage.

I'm using a set of the rereleased AMT tires and the look about equal to an old 750 x 15 tire. They offer both wide white wall and narrow whites. They also have a four tire set with 4- 6.70 x 15 and 4- 9.00 x 15 sizes so you could mix or match a set. They come in a red and white box at most hobby shops.

Thank you for the information. This is the sort of information I was wondering about. From what I saw in the videos the trucks look very sleek and aerodynamic and as I mentioned I was very impressed with what the drivers were able to do with them. It might be a good idea for some of the American truck designers to follow some of these designs.
