  1. I like it. You made a Custom out of a Custom. Tail lights look much cleaner and the De Soto grill look good also.
  2. A couple of years ago we had the Master Bath redone and new Hard Wood floors thru out the main level., and a new Kitchen back Splash. We were fortunate that we had a good contractor do the work but living in a construction site for a couple of months makes you think it might almost be easier to just buy a new hose next time.
  3. I also used this conversion on a Hull Raiser kit. I have had friends with "Jet Boats" and this conversion is dead on and the casting quality is perfect. A couple of technical issues that will need to be addressed. In a V-Drive set up the engine is looking at the stern, and a Jet Boat will be looking at the bow. In my case I sort of updated the engine and used a big block Chevy with a Supercharger. I used the engine mounts for the Chrysler engine with a little modification and relocated their position and it worked perfect. If you want to stay with the Chrysler you might want rethink the induction system. The six carbs. look impressive but where out by the time "Squirt Boats" came about. Tunnel Ram Intakes with one or two carbs were more common. I used a piece of spark plug wire for the control from the transom to the nozzle.
  4. Looks very nice especially being 20 years old.
  5. I like the fender flairs and splitter.
  6. Nice job on the Chassis splice, great color choice. While everyone sees color a little differently I think many think of the GM Hugger Orange as Orange. The MoPar GoMango Orange is a lighter shade of Orange but just as good looking. I have used both. Infact the GoMango Orange is on a '56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. Can't go wrong either way.
  7. That's funny, I love the idea.

    '71 Barracuda

Must be nice to have DEEEEP POCKETS. I like the look of the 1:1. Your grill surgery looks just like it should.
  9. Michael's had a 50% off coupon on the phone over the weekend.
  10. Sound interesting and I'll try it. For myself I have used the Tamiya clear Red over Chrome foil for tail lights and running lights with clear Orange or Yellow for the other markers.
  11. Looks like you have a great basis no matter which way you want to build it. Very nice body lines, I'd lose to stripes though.
  12. I bought a 2 oz. bottle of ZAP-A-Gap a few years ago. It's the medium CA+ and it has worked fine and I may not live long enough to use it all. I'm only about half way thru the container is all.
  13. Thank you for sharing. The builds look outstanding.
  14. Great engineering on the drive train on this.

    Revell VW Rabbit

Very nice clean build. I like the color, Rabbits always seemed to have bright colors like this.
  16. I followed your build on this and was very impressed with the way you did the body. Kind of a different color choice but sometimes that makes it standout that much more.

    1967 GTX

Beautiful build. I like the engine detailing. The windshield washer container with the mounting tab in white as it should be.
  18. Kudos in your restoration. This is a naturally beautiful body style but you really did it justice. Wish I was in a position to have a 1:1 car done, I would call you.
  19. It seems as if Hobby Lobby is getting serious about getting rid of old stock. At least in this area they usually just mark them down 40%, no big wow there. But this last week they have gotten serious about it and offered some great deals. Even if you don't care for the model subject there is a ton of parts that can be used elsewhere. As others mentioned the "Lawman" Plymouth, it had been $39.99 locally and I just couldn't justify that much even though its is a very nice kit. I picked up 2 @‌ $14.39 each and a '70 Pontiac pick-up/open sportster for $10.79. I have several '57 Ford Wagons in the stash now, but I'm a real fan of that subject so next week I'm going back to get one of those.
  20. When this was first issued, at least as I remember it, they included a '70's Mustang fastback. Remember that Petty drove Fords for one season, I think it was '69. I still think it's nice to have either of the kits back I think they should have offered the '69 Torino that Petty raced that year.
  21. Hope someone remembers to take pictures.
  22. Man , Dennis has really raised the bar on this one. Real wood, now that's the way to go.

    1970 Corvette

I have enjoyed looking at your Corvette builds and this one is one of the best so far. I had a co-worker that had one of these in Monaco Orange when it was just a couple of years old. That car could scare a big block Corvette any day of the week.
  24. That is what's called "Ridden Hard and put way wet". I think it's an old horse term for a horse that has been mistreated and that best describes your build. Very believable weathering and as you mentioned the glass crazing from the glue is also much like a car that has been in the hot sun all it's life.
  25. I agree with the others it looks more interesting as a wagon than a panel, and I like panels. The "wood" looks very real and the paint is nice and smooth also.
