  1. Nice clean looking build.
  2. I think that's a great idea. The first cars most of us had were well used and had been driven hard. But we loved them anyway. FREDOM is mine !!
  3. I would agree with you when looking for something that wouldn't otherwise be available. What I meant was a readily available kit that was complete and priced the same as a glue bomb with a glue damaged body and interior that needed a complete overhaul and most likely has some parts missing.
  4. Usually the gauges on a models dash has a raised molding into which the decal is set. I'll do any detailing of the surrounding area before I set the decals. After the decals have dried, usually over night, I'll then use which every product to basically fill the gauge face and then allow to dry. The reason I prefer the Future product is that it will tend to dip toward the center of the gauge after drying. This gives the illusion of a curved gauge face. Like the many other products mentioned here it also keeps the decal in place for many years since the decals will often not fully bond to say a chromed surface.
  5. I have used just two different products. #1 Tamiya clear and #2 Future. I find myself using future more and more now. The Future is a little "thinner" and flows a little better. I also use it for head light lenses and tail light lenses also.
  6. I have several original issue kits from 40 to 50 years ago. For me these will not be built, especially if they have been reissued as I would build those. I don't often rebuild a kit that is on display. I'm still trying to understand why someone would buy a glue bomb at a swap meet when a complete unbuilt kit is sitting there for the same price.
  7. The "Diamond Patterned" seats were never to my liking, but the "Recaro " seats are great for a later custom interior. You can see in the bagged picture at least one front Recaro. No way of knowing if the back seat is present. On the bottom of the box it shows the clear red parts and the Edsel tail light lenses are there. With a little creative body work you could make the flares that were part of those tail lights. We could hope the parts are in the kit, but if not at least the lenses are there.
  8. Looks great. I got to ask, how much was in the kit and how much did you gather elsewhere ??
  9. Great job on the body conversion. I thought it was a resin body at first. Nice "theme" build.
  10. Great patriotic paint job. The chassis detailing looks like a show car that has been driven a little. A little road grime in the small places of the chassis.
  11. "Your" Hot Rod is just the way I would want a 1:1 Ford. Great black paint job.
  12. Interesting kit. Which body are your going to use ??
  13. You are correct on the condition of this glue bomb. That thing is rougher than a night in jail. With all of the body issues it would be best to go with a rusty driver or an abandoned type build.
  14. The paint looks great and the engine is well detailed. Always liked the gen 2 Camaros.
  15. I don't know of any but you may have a better chance of finding one on the WANTED section on the Forum.
  16. Look forward to how your build turns out. How is the other Ford coming ??
  17. Looks very shot as far as a possible rebuild. I don't think even "Grave Yard Cars" on Velocity could bring this one back.
  18. Very nice looking build, especially the paint. Very creative why to accomplish your color.
  19. I don't know a lot about Monster Trucks, but it is plan to see you put a lot of work and effort into this build. I like the paint treatment. Again not knowing that much about the subject, are the directional treaded tires going in the correct direction ??
  20. From what I can see it looks pretty nice. I agree with the "Snake" you should try the photos again. That way we can fully appreciate your build.
  21. I think if you compare the AMT and the Revell '63 Impala kits there are strengths and weakness on both. The AMT body and interior while proportioned correctly to the eye don't fit together as well as the Revell. The Revell engine is ok but very simplified. It can be built and detailed and turn out very nice, but I feel that the 409 in the AMT is a better engine. The AMT has the chassis that was considered standard at that time and not as detailed as any later kits you may have been building. It would be nice to put both of them together in a blender for about ten minutes and then build what comes out.

    Very nice looking custom.
  23. Beautiful build. I always enjoy seeing your Fords.
  24. Very nice build. I agree with you about building a model of a car you owned many years ago. Hopefully only the good memories come back to you and none of the bad ones. Great color.
