  1. I built the Revell Charger Police Car Edition a few years ago. It was all I could find at the time. The engine is actually the 5.7 Hemi, but with the engine cover it's hard to tell. I think the 6.1 in fact doesn't use an engine cover and the top of the induction system and the ignition are exposed. Most of these systems are in this kit in a basic form but with a little detailing you could make a very convincing 6.1 liter.
  2. Great looking build. The color comes out looking almost like a Black Mt. in the pictures.
  3. Great job. I like that you didn't over do it, just a nice well used car. Red headlights ? I like the open side exhaust.
  4. Very clean and accurate build. You even managed to get the Air Conditioning Compressor hooked up, and that isn't easy.
  5. I never cared for the 1:1 when they came out, but with what you did here it looks great.
  6. I have to agree with the cleaner look. Sometimes designers used to just put to much glitter on an otherwise good design.
  7. I like the paint job. How far are you going with the weathering?
  8. This and the other build both follow the prototype. Most people built these with what they had in addition to their own ability. This looks like a fun build, got me to thinking this might be the next build fad.
  9. Excellent color choice. Ford and most other manufactures for that matter used just about every color in the rainbow in the mid '50's.
  10. You're off to a great start. There is something very rewarding to building a model of your personal ride, especially if it's your first car. You also can go out in the driveway to verify any detail you need to. Your trucks body looks like it's in pretty good shape for a truck in your part of the Rust Belt.
  11. Don't know why I missed these at the first of the month. Many different and great build and paint techniques.
  12. Lookin good so far. What kind of finish are you going for on the wood ?
  13. I have built both and still have at least one of each in my stash. The AMT kit was cutting edge at that time and featured opening doors, which with the interior door panel acting as the door jam made them a little thicker than they should have been in scale. The kit is a very nice representation of a '58 Impala and has just been reissued and is readly available. The Revell kit is not currently being issued but it can be still found in most hobby shops. The Revell kit I believe was Revell's first issue with the body side chrome and even the molding along the top of the rear quarter panels molded separately and on the chrome tree. They have several mounting pins on the back side which match holes in the recessed area on the side of the body. They are a very tight fit and you would want to scrape the chrome off the back side and the pins for a better fit and adhesion. The AMT kit offers additional engine options that are not in the Revell kit. Both kits use a 348 cu.in. engine with the 3x2's carburation set up as the standard engine. I personally would not discourage anyone from buy either kit as I have enjoyed them both. Not matter which one you build you will have a very nice model that is a very accurate '58 Impala.
  14. Just got my February issue from the parallel modeling universe, they had an ad from NEWCENTURYHOBBIES.COM offering Goer decals. I guess I'm spoiled since the hobby shop I go to has them in stock . I have used their decals off and on for many years and I know you will like them.
  15. Despite all the nay sayers on the Revell '48 Ford coupe this shows just how much better it is than the IMC kit.
  16. Very nice clean build.

Looks just like on the box. Great looking build.
  18. Your build looks very believable, nice build.
  19. I'm sure his father is going to cherish this build. Very kind of you to help.
  20. Wow. I can see so many uses including having spare parts to have for back up.
  21. Great looking build. I like the truck conversion idea. I think I have seen this car in one of the old car magazines.
  22. beautiful build. I was not sure about the dark Blue at first, but when finished it looks perfect.
  23. Your build with your son looks like it's going great. From the side view picture it looks like the front wheels might have to go forward about 1 or 2 mm. If need be for narrowing the front track it looks like the Corvette front suspension/chassis components could be narrowed if need be.
  24. Are you printing the cab and the bed both ? How thick is it compared to the original kit ? How about the frame ?
  25. That looks fantastic.
