Thank you Tom. IT was harder than you would think to get the bed and cab body lines to match. I was only able to get the windshield and rear window to work with advice from others on the Forum. The interior has the dash and seat from the AMT '57 Chevy. The Impala's hood made use of the cowl induction portion of the Revell Nova SS hood.

    40 Fords

That sedan looks like it could haul Shine. With a gloss coat the green would look very much like a Ford OEM color.
  3. Beautiful builds. The Corvette are really special.
  4. Great clean looking builds. I like the quad headlight conversion on the Del Rio, that was a common thing back in the day on the 1:1 cars.

Thank you all for looking and your comments are greatly appreciated. The El Camino was a special build to me personally, this was my personal driver from '67 till '74 when it was replaced by a new Chevy C-10 step side. Over 100k miles on a 396/350 with 4-speed. Lots of clutches and one valve job and a cam upgrade. Loved that truck. The Impala SS is if I win the Lottery. The Del Rio was pearl painted to look like a 50's custom with flat tail lights. I had those lights on both of the "57's I owned years ago. The '57 Step Side is a modified body on a Chevy SS truck chassis.
  13. Beautiful build, and I like the back drop. Congratulations on now being your own boss. Now who do you complain too ? That's a great looks work shop, you'll a building fool now.
  14. Great looking build. I'm with Snake, this is not one of Revell's better kits.
  15. I like the interior. What did you do to create the carpeting? The picture looks like the gray finish is a flat, or is that just photography?
  16. Nice smooth body. Can you share a little bit about the Ram Air hood ? You said you were back datng and from the picture it looks like you might of used a later hood and then created the hood scoops.
  17. Very nice save on the hood, and the Red color looks great also. Is this the old AMT Ventura from years ago ? It would have shared separate fenders and hood just like the Nova SS kit of that era. I personally like the grill area better on the Ventura than the Nova.

  19. Getting a paint finish wright is almost the most difficult part of modeling. A couple of suggestions, and there will be many others with additional suggestions . Since your in Wisconsin, not sure how far north but I spent a year one winter in Eagle River, ambient temperature and humidity play a heavy roll in the paint finish. The pebbly finish you mentioned sounds as if you might have been holding the spray to far from what you were painting allowing the paint to start drying before it reached what you were spraying. This can become worse if it is cold also. Tamiya primer can usually be sanded very shortly after spraying. Many have different ideas on this, but I have had good luck spraying primer go have lunch and then start sanding. Besides better finish paint adhesion the primer will show you any other body imperfections you need to work on before using your final color coat.
  20. You might want to look in the After Market section on this forum. There is bound to be more than one Resin Caster there that would have what your looking for. I have gotten parts from Harts Parts and if his MoPar hoods are anything like the parts I got for my '67 El Camino project you will be happy with his product.
  21. I have picked up two spray cans of glitter paint by Model Master. #2983 is Multi color and #2984 is Silver glitter. They are very small flakes suspended in clear. With a little experimentation there would be many uses. There are some other "glitter" type paints out there and I think that Model Master might be one of the suppliers that you may want to avoid. These paints have a very ruff finish and would require many coats of clear to get smooth and by that time all trim detail would be long gone. I lucked out when I bought these at HL as they were in the close out area at $2.26 each.
  22. Very sleek looking. I really like the stance.
  23. Beautiful builds. Only six months you say ?
  24. The Mustang suspension and engine is a great idea. The front track should be very close to the '40's. Do you have the rear suspension to use also ? Staying with the custom idea it would be great if you could include some of the interior parts.
  25. Outstanding engineering on this build. I like the old 409 engine idea.
