  1. That is a great looking build. I would never of thought of a light green color, but it sure makes this build stand out.
  2. Hang them from the rear view mirror instead fo Fuzzy Dice.
  3. Very cool idea. I like the concept of a V-12 in a big Bonneville.
  4. I made an assumption based on the photo. I just never thought of anyone putting a coffee cup on a model. It just didn't look that large in the photo. I hope your paint repair goes well.
  5. The significance was that this was the last year that Chrysler offered the high horsepower engines it was known for. There were a few limited editions here and there but nothing was as it was before. Between the Insurance Companies unbelievable insurance premiums often exceeding your monthly car payment, many of the potential buyers were of in South East Asia wearing green. As for the model it's self it a reissue of a kit from long ago that doesn't have the quality that we have all come to expect today. If none of that bothers you then go for it. I've seen some really nice builds using this kit.
  6. That is the way a Hot Rod is supposed to look.
  7. Beautiful. Great idea for the Boat Tail look. The engine idea is very original. Those old engines were torque monsters.
  8. Great looking build. Like you I like the Silver paint treatment. Your City background looks interesting.
  9. Your sink mark on the roof. Is the dome light on the interior side ? I have never had this happen myself so this is just a thought.
  10. You say nothing special, but that red really grabs your attention and then you see the extra work on the chassis.
  11. Good save on the paint. The light weathering looks like a 4 or 5 year old car that hasn't even seen a car port. Some times less is more.
  12. Beautiful build. the body is very nicely detailed.
  13. Very nice clean build.
  14. Got the parts I ordered 2/5 shipped 2/11 arrived 2/13. I had ordered the Ski Boat conversion and he thru in a Fuel Cell gratis. They are everything I had hoped for. So I hope his assignment goes well for him and when he gets back and is up and running I intend to get some additional goodies. Great quality castings.
  15. Looks like a lot of work, but really made it payoff. Great looking build, nice job on the side moldings and bed rails.
  16. Great looking show. I really like the Red/White Nomad. any more pictures to share on the show and the models ??
  17. If you're unable to find the decals you are after you might check out JoAnns Fabrics. They sell a lot of lace that is used for the edge of dresses and such. I got some 2mm wide rolls that worked well. Since they are for an edge on clothing they have very tight patterns.
  18. The Water Markings are used to prevent others from representing the photo as something of their own. Since you're not inclined to do such a thing it is hard to understand that there are others that would.

Very nice build. Chrysler products are the only ones that just look right in Purple. A question on the tires. Were they from this kit?? They look like the treaded Good Year Racing tires from the early 70's. I would like to use some for a future build.
  20. Beautiful engine. Mickey Thompson would be the person to do this in 1:1. I remember when he cut one of the 4 Cylinder engines in half for a 2 cylinder and latter even tried a single cylinder. You never wanted to tell Mickey he couldn't do something. The guy would just go out and prove you wrong. You really should build something appropriate for this engine.
  21. You are correct about this models many short falls and proportions of the body. All that said I don't remember seeing one of these that looked this well done. Put on the shelf with pride.
  22. Great looking color. I love the roof conversion you did.
  23. Always nice to build a model of your own car. A thought on your paint choice since it sounds like you're not 100% on what you have now. I have used some Testors Lacquer paint in just such a project in the past. Their #1836M DeJa Blue is a dark metallic blue used for Danube Blue on a '66 Impala SS, #1843M Star Spangled Blue is lighter but not as light as Marina Blue. They are easy one coat paints if these color are more to what your looking for.
  24. Beautiful paint finish. Black always looks best in the first few seconds after you polish it weather it's 1:24th or 1:1. I have done both, but I still love Black the best.
  25. Just an idea on the exhaust. 1. Step up one size on the drill bit to enlarge the inside diameter. 2. Sometimes it gets difficult to keep the drill bit centered or if it is already off center, try using a fresh #11 blade. Insert the tip in the opening and slowly turn to remove material within the opening. This way you can open up the opening on the thicker side without changing it on the thinner side. The interior panels look great.
