  1. Mine would involve winning the Lottery, Mega Million, and Kansas Cash. Then I could do what ever I wanted, drive what ever I wanted and live where ever I wanted. I would stay married to my bride of over 30 years because it just doesn't get any better than that.
  2. We have a weather man on TV that works himself into a tizzy every time he thinks it may snow. Last week he had me checking the tire pressure on the snow blower and making sure that it had a full tank of fresh gas. What we got was hardly enough to call it a "dusting". Not complaining, we only get a couple of storms every winter and 2" to 3" at a time. That's just fine by me.
  3. To many people seem to believe only what they see or read on the internet, "because the internet doesn't lie !"
  4. I'm glad you included a couple of build pictures, The finished build looks so nice it's hard sometimes to appreciate all the effort that went into this build. The front suspension is amazing.
  5. I like the build style. I was going to ask about rear fenders and then I saw you were already working on that. I noticed the bed cover has an interesting molded pattern, was that from a kit or something you created ? The touch of rust on the headers looks great.
  6. I built one of these for a friend several years ago. It was the racing version with the Securicor Omega Express livery. He owned an 850 at the time and wanted a model of what he wanted it to be some day. My only disappointment was the lack of an engine, and I had to create an interior. The body was very well done and everything else fit well.
  7. As suggested you would want to remove the chrome on the back side. I usually use Future floor wax for small trim items as well as windows. It will dry clear if you should get some out on the paint. What ever adhesive you use just be very conservative on application and resist using to much.
  8. Great looking build. Your Dad should enjoy that.
  9. Love the Gasser, would like to see more of the Camaro.
  10. Really nice looking Camaros. I like that you used factory colors.
  11. Beautiful build, looks just like the real one.
  12. Beautiful looking build.
  13. I like the no bumper guard look. I have owned two '57s in the past and that was about the first thing that I would do on the 1:1. You can remove the guards on the kit bumpers if you reinforce the bumper area under the guards first. A lot of sanding and be real carful with the mounting pin hole for the bumper. Also Replicas & Miniatures offers bumpers already done. The usual chrome painting will be needed which ever way you go.
  14. I followed the build on the 4X4 Chevy and the T-Bird. They all look amazing.
  15. Beautiful starting grid. Odd to not pose them in the sun. Maybe to shinny for the camera.
  16. What I meant be my comment on the door hinges is based on only my personal experience. The '56 Victoria and '57 Fords I have built in the past all had doors that did not seem to want to close properly and always dropped down when opened. That is why I felt that some other type of hinge would work better. The kits door hinges do look somewhat like the real thing, but in 1/25th plastic it doesn't seem to work like a 1:1 door. I looked at a '56 Victoria in my stash and I think that the color of green used on the glass roof does not look like the color on the 1:1 car. The '56s I recall seeing usually had the lighter color across the hood, trunk, and above the side moldings on the body. The darker color would then be on the roof and below the body side moldings. This may work if you choose to use the glass roof and want to go with the green and white colors you mentioned. I think that Ford may have had the option of reversing the color position, but I can only recall seeing a hand full painted that way and those were on a few '55s and even fewer '56s. But this is like Burger King, you can do it your way. What ever you do please keep the story going on this build.
  17. Wow that looks really old. I like the leafs and the water bottle.
  18. Great weathering. The diorama gives it the perfect setting.
  19. Very nice build. Looks like the real thing.
  20. Nice looking builds. I particularly like the Fords.
  21. That color will look great on this body style. Having not built a kit for a while you will be pleased with this one. I think it is one of Revell's better efforts.
  22. You wisely are making your own door hinges. The kits hinges were sloppy when this tool was new and I'm sure it hasn't gotten any better with age. By removing the kits door jams you can now shape them as needed. The Victoria hardtop is a great looking design, but depending on what look you're going for the Crown Victoria may even look better sometimes. If you keep most of the stock chrome and side moldings it would look great as a Crown Victoria. It would be easy to mockup to see if it goes with what you are building. The Glass Roof can look a little out of place with some color combinations.
  23. Looks great so far. You mentioned stripes and wanting to change to look of the hood. While the old "Skunk Stripes" looked perfect on the series 1 and 2 Camaro, they look a little forced on the newest body style. They will work but you might look at some of the newer styles being used now. I don't care for the front fender hash marks, but they look ok on the newer body styles. I like the body options from the 2010 Camaro, that seems correct for this body style. But it is your build so do what looks best to you.
