  1. The TS-86 Pure Red is a Red Red for lack of a better description. To my eye it looked more like a bright Red but didn't have any Orange to it. TS-49 Bright Red is a very bright Ferrari type Red. The TS-85 Bright Mica Red has a hint of metallic. Some times online images just like printed images just don't turn out quiet the same. They also have a TS-12 Orange if you're looking for something along that line.
  2. Great looking paint.
  3. Congratulations on the 16 years. When it's right it's right and life is complete.
  4. Please don't run away mad. I also have had the fight with a body in Red plastic. One thing I learned here from others is that red is very difficult to seal. What I also learned was that a number of builders have used the color silver on top of primer will block the red from showing thru. I think everyone was trying to help you by sharing their experiences.
  5. I like all of the extra effort you put into the detailing. Even the flat silver inside the chrome tail light housings. The interior trim looks perfect.
  6. Beautiful looking Corvair, you just don't get to see these very often. I like the stance and the 4 carb. engine.
  7. Another one of your beautiful signature black paint jobs. I was disappointed that Revell chose to not have the stock chrome moldings on this kit. It would be easier to remove them if not wanted than to make your own. The interior finish look perfect.
  8. Another one of your imaginative builds. You turned this into a perfect Beach Cruiser. Racks for the boards and all. Looks like you might have gotten into the surf just a little.
  9. Beautiful looking build. As others have pointed out weather you personally like the wheels or not you look past that if it should bother you. I for one prefer and usually build in much the same manor as your self and for me as long as its this side of Donk I fine with it. Everyone has things they prefer but the great thing about here is you get to see so many different styles and some unbelievable details. We all have a lot to learn from each other. I give your build two thumbs up.
  10. Beautiful looking Oldsmobile. We had an '86 Monte Carlo SS from '86 to 2003. These two cars share a lot of DNA. Went over 100k with nothing but normal maintenance and sold it for just a little more than what we paid new, about $10k. Hang on to your 1:1, it's perfect looking and you already know how hard it is to find these cars anymore.
  11. Great looking build. As others have pointed out it has the look of Milner's Hot Rod. I have always felt a little mixed on the abbreviated rear fender look but these look just right. Milner might want to be careful getting in and out that he doesn't burn his ankle on the side pipes.
  12. You might look at the After Market Directory on this sight as there are many there that offer decals and transfers for tire lettering.
  13. Thanks for the info on the pedals since I'm about to start this kit also. The exhaust manifolds you mention look strangely similar to big block Chevy cast iron manifolds. I built the AMT '61 Ranchero Custom kit recently and the engine in that turned out to be a poor representation of a big block Chevy and not a Ford at all. Do you know if these kits are even related or not ?
  14. "The Bad Man" the kit is a hardtop, "Bandit" the car in the picture is a coupe. Same idea just different body styles.
  15. I had built one of the Chryslers back in the day, and it just didn't look right. We didn't even know to primer anything and it wouldn't have worked in this application anyway. As I recall I used some shade of red and it turned out looking more pink than red. The kit it's self was as good as anything you could get at that time but the Metalflake thing just didn't work.
  16. Great looking builds.

    1928 pickup

Great looking build, so many little details. The rack for the Surf Boards looks great. Are the exhaust tubes plastic also ??

    40 ford custom

I really like the painting technique, and the added suspension, brackets, and exhaust.

    1928 Lincoln

Beautiful build. All of the colors flow together perfectly. That has to be half again as big as a normal kit.
  20. Beautiful build. Nice clean trim details.
  21. I like the NASCAR engine idea instead of the Hemi. The grill mesh looks just right.
  22. Super nice looking build. Is it ready for Under Glass Section or can we see some of the building stages?
  23. This is going to be interesting. I built the reissue of this kit last year. I like the head lights and the aluminum paper clip bumper bolts what an idea. I don't know about your intentions for the windshield but I have an idea of where that may of came from. I may be wrong but it looks to me to be the rear window from the optional chopped top on the old '50 Ford Victoria.
  24. The March issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine has a short history of how Revell got into the model business after WW II. They have some pictures of several of the very early kits and a poster for the Highway Pioneers showing all of the different kits in that series. Does anyone else remember the Metalflake show car series ?? Nice box art for the '51 Henry J Drag Coupe and Ed Roth's Outlaw roadster. Very informative read.
