  1. Very nicely done David , those colors look good on it and the interior details are great ! Really like those wheels , were they in the kit ?
  2. It looks really good to my eyes Bob , even with the issues it turned out great and I'm sure it looks great on display ! I've read a lot about this kit so I passed .
  3. In 1974 Revell teamed up with Disney to capitalize on the "Herbie The Love Bug" movie's success and they modified the Bug Bomb molds to create Li'l Herbie . Never marketed as a Deal's Wheels kit it was sold primarily in toy stores and super markets , this makes it one of the harder DW kits to find . I found this one several years ago in great condition only missing one rear tire and the rear trunk handle . I had a set of tires that would be perfect for it but since I had never seen the movie I really wasn't that motivated , then a few weeks ago I came across those tires again and decided it was time . So I tore it apart and cleaned all of the parts , painted it Wimbledon White and printed my own decals . I had to make a new rear trunk handle so I also made door handles and the front handle , the wipers and exhaust are from my parts box . One thing the original kit didn't have was a driver so I modified one from a Baja Humbug . This was another fun one to build and looks great on the shelf . I hope you like it !
  4. Beautiful work Bill , makes me want to get one of these ! Is it the AMT kit ?
  5. Not everybody here does either , I live in the Tampa area and it's an hour drive to the nearest Hobby Lobby and not worth the trip . They never have anything close to what's in that photo , only 2 shelfs and mostly the same kits now as the last few years . Michaels is worse .
  6. Really looking forward to you getting started on this one John ! I've got both of the Werner's bikes and the figures but have never even opened them since I don't have the space to display the right now , I've only seen a couple of these built and they look awesome when finished ! Here's mine . . .

Really sharp looking GTO Ken ! Beautiful paint and excellent detailing !
  8. Looks great to me James ! I don't mind the wide stance that much , gives it a lower appearance in the photos .
  9. Thanks Bob , I appreciate that ! I've seen several custom versions built that are waaaay better but thanks very much !
  10. A lot if Fad T's I've seen have a bunch of parts that just don't work together but you've nailed this one , all of the parts work perfectly together . . . excellent job ! Not sure how you modified the Black Widow top to make it work but WOW ! And where did you find that horn ?

  19. Beautiful '32 , it looks really good with those early Monogram wheels & tires !
  20. Beautifully done Jesse , the paint and detailing is exceptionally nice ! One thing you might think about is toning down those black panel lines , they should appear as a shadow not black .
  21. Thanks much Carl ! Thanks you Jim ! Thanks David !
  22. Very cool !! Your paint work on the wood looks excellent , great job overall !
  23. Looks really nice , more photos please !
  24. I like it , would have been a great short track car !!
  25. This absolutely works , been doing this for several years ! Anything to support your hand will help . Another trick I do is while hold the part with my left hand and the paintbrush in my right hand I actually rest both arms flat on the bench , this keeps both hand from shaking ! As for fixtures I can't use anything that elevates the part more than about 4 inches above my bench so I limit myself to just a small 2" vise and all kinds of clamps .
