  1. You should be very happy with that Jim , it turned out great ! I like the paint and your trim & emblems are excellent , you have a very steady hand !
  2. Yes but did you check out the link to the Fotki Album that Harry posted ? What a treasure trove of information !! http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_car_photos/beautiful_custom_cars/1/silhouette/
  3. Looks great to me David ! And I don't blame you for leaving that trim alone , I can't see anything that small either !
  4. Excellent job ! Love the colors and markings on this one !
  5. Excellent work Andrew ! These old Monogram kits still build into great looking classics !
  6. Good tip but the only issue I have is that black residue will also smear onto your painted surfaces and is a pain to clean off , a better idea is to polish the BMF sheet before using it . I use Semi-Chrome polish but any good polish will do the trick .
  7. Those are some really great survivors ! Don't ever restore them , they're perfect just like they are .
  8. Wow that's nice Tom ! Beautiful colors , looks really good with the white top and no skirts .
  9. Beautiful Corvette Ken , looks sharp in yellow !
  10. That's really nice Helmut , such a beautiful body style ! We had a '66 LeSabre when I was a kid , not as sporty but still a great looking car .
  11. You say nothing fancy but to me that's perfect ! Well done !
  12. Rick was a great builder/painter and I always enjoyed seeing his work , pretty cool that you have this one and can display it in his memory . How did you acquire it ?
  13. That's cool , well done Michael ! I never knew there were decals available for this .
  14. I think Jim is in Citrus Springs (Crystal River/Ocala area) which is a couple hours north of Tampa so I'm guessing he's doing okay . We're in Citrus Park (NW part of Hillsborough County/Tampa) so we're on the weaker side of the storm and are expecting the wind gusts and rain to pick up this evening and thru the night , probably will be some trees down and maybe some minor flooding here but hopefully not too serious .
  15. I was stationed on Okinawa 1975-78 and remember seeing several RHD T/A's there , all 77's or 78's . Maybe it was a conversion done in Japan ? These and a few Cadillac's were about the only "new" American cars I saw on Okinawa .
  16. Well done Rex , you built it just the way it should be done and the way I remember ! I built one when they first came out (not a complete disaster) and have one stashed that I may try again soon .
  17. I was just about to reply to your WIP thread and thought I'd look here first . . . There's not too many if any kits that can be painted and built in 3-4 hours and look this nice , just think if somebody spent serious time and really detailed one of these !?! Well done Ray and if it ends up in pieces I'm sure it was worth the fun !
  18. Not much to these but they're great little kits and look very good when finished . It's gonna look great in purple , sure your grandson will love it !
  19. Very cool little Speedster , well done !
  20. Great paint , the red and white really looks sharp !
  21. Thanks much Don , glad you like it !
  22. Super nice work Bill ! I know that you're not offering anything for sale but man o man that's a nice looking GTCS ! And those wheels are without a doubt the nicest anywhere . . . why the heck can't kit manufacturers get these right ?!?!
  23. Beautifully done Chuck and in a gorgeous color ! Like so many kits that are said to be terrible or just plain garbage this one builds up into a very presentable model .
  24. Wow that's super nice , very well done Ryan ! I've got two original flat box kits to build , I can only hope they are close to as good as yours .
