  1. Beautifully done Lee , nothing prettier than a classic old Chevy !
  2. Great colors and it looks like you managed the BMF just fine , well done !
  3. Don't see many in white , it looks great !
  4. Thanks David ! Thanks Bart ! The pre-colored parts are definitely an improvement , hopefully they do a bunch more .
  5. Thanks Perry ! You're right , I did an F-18 and a Corsair a few years ago and they seemed kind of plain so I never bought another until I saw this one .
  6. I started this the day after Christmas and over the next ten days it took about 14 hours to finish . I built a couple of their planes a few years ago but they were nothing like this , they only had a dozen or so parts . This kit had 80 pieces ! As stated in other threads the instructions were a challenge and shaping the curved parts takes lots of patience , but it was worth the effort and very satisfying to eventually finish the model . I think everybody should try at least one of the Metal Earth kits , you might enjoy it ! I take lots of photos , hope you like it . I experimented with different ways to take the photos and ended up putting the model on a raised platform in front of a blue background .
  7. You did a great job Bart , that looks excellent ! I like the display you made with the track and bed to go with it . I just finished a Metal Earth kit and they can be quite a challenge , like you said it takes some patience and a few tools but the effort is well worth it .
  8. I really like that , very cool !
  9. Great conversion and painted in the correct colors too ! It always bugs me when a TV show or movie has FHP cars painted black and white , or even blue !
  10. That's one beautiful Mustang ! And some great tips on taking photos .
  11. Thanks much Bob ! That's the AMT Snake Eyes kit from years ago , I always liked that box art . Thanks Anders ! That was a fun one !
  12. Wow those are some real beauties ! Very well done Ryan !
  13. Well done Michael , I love that look !
  14. Well done Ray , you've got quite a shelf full of 57's by now !
  15. Sharp looking Olds and a beautiful paint job !
  16. Thanks much Rodney !
  17. Pretty cool , I think you did a great job replicating the movie cars ! Great job !
  18. Yesterday I finally had time to try and finish this up . The 2nd part of Step #16 is attaching the bottom of the Shuttle to the External Tank then attaching the Shuttle itself . Had lots of problems with that last part , the upper and lower wings just didn't want to go together . I did pre-fit them before I started but when the time came it just didn't help , maybe I missed something somewhere . Ignore the right side of this photo , I know I'm holding the wings the wrong way . The first part was easy taking only a few minutes but the rest took nearly an hour of fiddling with them . That was it for yesterday so today I continued Steps #17 and #18 , these are what's called the "Tail Service Masts" . They were easy and only took a half hour to complete . Step #19 is assembling the Mobile Launch Platform . This was a fairly simple assembly and was finished in another hour . The final step is attaching the Shuttle Launch Vehicle to the platform , this was made more difficult since the booster nozzles go down into those recesses in the platform . There's no way to see the tabs or the slots they go into so again it was a lot of fiddling around before they went together . At least another half hour spent but it's finally finished ! The Shuttle looks so good that it's a little disappointing they didn't spend more time on the platform , it looks kind of plain to me . Start to finish the assembly time was approximately 14 hours spread over 10 days . I'm going to take some more photos and post them later ,Thanks for following along !
  19. Thanks Joe ! Having to read instructions and trying to figure out where each piece goes takes up a lot of the time involved .
  20. The Gun Metal on the wheels works perfectly with the Gray paint on the body , gonna be nice !
  21. They're all beautifully done as usual Rodney ! The Salinas Special really grabs my attention , clean lines and simplicity at it's best . How did I miss this one !?! Edit : Just looked back and found your original post on the Salinas Special . . . nice !
  22. Three very sharp builds , nice work Steve ! Looks like the Firebird is gonna be a nice one !
