I went to look on their site today and a notice with a red bar on it appeared on the right hand side of my screen saying on the red bar that Model Motorcars had closed. Their site is still accessible to go onto and look around but obviously not sure what is going on given what I saw? Does any one on here know anything for sure and can confirm that they are still trading ? I have been eying up some Mercedes bits for a Pocher kit I have had languishing at home from long before my retirement. Seeing that has made me a bit cautious.

Plenty of food for thought and demos about detailing interiors in the A4 Garage videos on Youtube. -

I was unaware of AITM not being around any more. Like many cottage industries, so dependent on an individual keeping it going. The company made some really nice resin parts, so hopefully the moulds might be bought by someone. -

Thanks for the further suggestions Gary and Peter. -
Nice further progress on the London Taxi. Chromework looks good now applied. The overall black finish on your cab looks really good too David. Now that someone has already done a London Cab, I am surprised that no kit manufacturer has ever produced that other iconic taxi, the Checker Cab to my knowledge. Maybe someone has done one as a 3D printed kit? I have a feeling that Franklyn Mint or someone similar may have produced a Checker Cab in 1/24th scale as a fully built die cast model.

Getting the Christmas decorations up at last ! Steve. I hope you enjoyed seeing your grand daughter singing in a choir at York Minster on Friday last. What a lovely setting. It's a wonderful cathedral having visited it in the past. You can only look in awe at the craftsmanship considering how many hundreds of years ago it was built using rudimentary tools.

I am about to try printing my own decals. Already have a few sheets of decal paper and will be using an ink jet printer. Apart from knowing that white cannot be reproduced, I would like to benefit from the experience of those who have already printed their own in the past. Things like it they need to be sealed, products used etc. Any info would be very helpful to avoid any pitfalls. Thanks. -
Erik, those two 1/8th scale E type kits looked very different to me way back when they passed through my hands. So if what you are telling me is correct than I therefore stand corrected. It would be interesting to see photographs of each kits parts layout to see what is common between the two kits and what has been tooled differently.

Nice models. All you need now is a model barn to 'find' them in.

It was watching the Mustang video that prompted me to start this thread ! It's got to be the best detailed up Revell car kit I have seen so far ! I will have to take a look at Kenji's plastic models that Doyle suggested. I didn't know of that one !

Came across a number of YouTube videos by A4 Garage. Fantastic builds being done on them with lots of upgrade and detail work techniques being shown. The small scratch built items are very interesting to see being made. Recommended viewing !

Incredibly detailed models Manfred. I have just started to attempt build No16 from the Artesania Latina kit as I like the colour scheme of mainly blue with yellow window frames etc. The kit is of No 29 in the plum red and sky blue livery, so I will have to get decals printed up for the version I will be making. I have been running and pausing YouTube videos with No 16 featured in it. It is amazing all those extra details that can be seen when doing this. My biggest challenge I think will be that No16 has a sliding door at each end of the enclosed section. Manfred's videos point the way forward about how I can overcome this particulzr problem. Lots to learn from them about other things on my build.

Thanks for the heads up Trevor. I will have to look and see if the Zona one available from someone in the UK.

You could be right about the P4 source Les.

The quality of those 3D printed parts looks good Les. Far better than the Lotus Cortina Mk2 that I bought at Telford a couple of years back to make a model of a car I used to own.

Ditto all previous accolades ! I often wonder why Tamiya never did the E Type down the years.
