I did finally find some underside pics of an over restored one online, the front subframe was body color. There's an engine cradle that's black along with the suspension....... I just ordered some gold paint for this! Should be here by week's end. Finally found some on Amazon.....

That's a striking model! It has a very nice presence about it.....

Well, guys.... I can't seem to find any gold paint anywhere! If I'm still gonna do a panel paint job on this, it will have to be with these two colors. The bronze is what I used on the 5 window I recently finished, the brown is the Cordova brown I showed earlier. I put down the bronze first....... What do you guys think? I'm on the fence now about even doing the panel job, I may just paint it solid brown.

Thanks, Bill man! The 'spinners' are from the Monogram '53 Chevy lowrider...... As far as the kit, it's right up there with the '60 Starliner as far as details go. My example has/had a lot of flash, tho......

THAT is a nice car...... I'm guessing it has the 390 engine? Most likely I'll be using the custom tail lights for this build...... If I was to use the factory ones, I would get some silver acrylic craft paint. They rinse cleanly until dry, so any mistakes could be cleaned with water....

Mike, man, I like DupliColor perfect match clear. I make close, fast passes with the spray can and hardly ever get any peel in it.... As long as your primer works with the clear, you shouldn't have much issue. The craft paints don't make a very good barrier coat...

Do you mean how I install them, or how I go about detailing them? Neither one looks like it will be a simple task!

Cool, guys, thanks! After reading the review of the 1/48 Comet, it doesn't seem that good of a kit. They may be being a bit over critical, though..... I'll look about and see what I can find...... Thanks.

Bill, are there many kits out there of racing planes? I would like to find a full detail kit of something like one of these...... Doesn't have to be these particular planes, just something similar and purpose built....

Got a little more progress to show! The body and all associated parts are in primer..... Also, I found some knock-offs for the wheels. I've read about some fitment issues when it comes time to mate the body to the chassis/interior assembly, so I plan on building up the "guts" as much as I can and test fit them to the body before I continue with the paint work.... That's it for now, please comment freely!

These guys have been around for some time.... I'm just now 'discovering' them, though. Anyone here like Franz Ferdinand? So far I'm still on their first album (self titled), this song sounds the best to me out of those. Other songs that are good on this album are "Take Me Out" and "This Fire". This one is "40'"...... (forty feet).....

It's not a problem! When I was working on this, I searched the forum a few times to see if there was any other lowered Camaros here.... Not surprising there was only a few. Yours' and one by member Gary Seeds..... I'm really glad you like it! and Yours looks just fine....

Thanks for the info, guys! You've made my job that much easier..... Carl, what I was thinking of doing was to paint the chassis body color, since I'm wanting this to be a show car/custom. Then I could paint the gas tank aluminum with maybe some black foil for the straps...... We'll see! I did get the paint for this thing finally. Still need the gold to use as a base coat. What I have planned is to paint the whole thing in gold, then mask off some panel accents where I want the gold to stay. Then I could use the brown on it..... When this kit was released about 8 or 10 years ago, I bought one only to ruin it with the paint I was trying to use on it. I'm glad I'm getting a second chance with it to try and do it justice.....

I have just a quick question regarding detailing the chassis..... The front and rear subframes, were they painted with the floor pan, or were they painted black then installed? You can see the subframe in the rear, some structural braces around the transmission tunnel, and the front subframe that ties into the bottom of the firewall area.....

Thanks, Chris man...... All these small parts had a Bunch of flash to clean up. Also it seems the mold release agent is kinda heavy. I got some fish-eyes on some things. After a scrub with comet, though, everything covered......

I've been working on some of the small parts for the last couple of days. Still waiting on my paint for the body, and since I want things like the engine block and chassis to be keyed with the body, I'm at kind of a waiting stage...... Anyways, that's progress for now, thanks!

I apologize.... I got kinda fed-up with this build. There's no way to paint it without the red showing through. I guess that's why the box art car is red! Too bad, too, as I really like these mn12 T Birds........

I would love to have another fox chassis T Bird..... I used to have one when I was about 16. I would do a lot of things to it to make it more performance-oriented. End result may look something like this.......

There's some touch-ups to do, but you get the general idea as to how it's gonna look. The more I work with this kit, the better I like it! It's very detailed and such..... The dash even represents the swing-away column. I've got my brown on order, hopefully it will be here soon so I can move along with this.... Thanks, and feel free to comment!
