  1. A nice, slick, shiny paint job is a Lot of work, but to me it's the most rewarding aspect of model building...... Couple of years later, and this is still one of my favorites...
  2. That's pretty..... Where did you get the wheels and tires from?
  3. Thanks, Casey.... Nice to see three choices for decals. Kit contents are posted on page three......
  4. Hey, Fellas. Would anyone happen to have a copy of this kit? If so, could you please post the contents? Also, I would love to see what the decal sheet looks like..... I'm hoping it's not just the 1/25 MPC kit scaled up..... Thanks for any help!
  5. Hey, guys.... Sometimes I run across the need for a clear that can be applied with a paint brush. Is there such a thing? Thanks....
  6. Cool...... Final mock-up........ just need to finish some small parts, then it's on to assembly.
  7. Was able to get my paint polished today...... next I'll try to apply the scallop decals.
  8. Thanks,, Bruce man! It's actually just dark blue.... Gotta love fast drying lacquers...... from primer going on to the clear drying was about 4.5 or 5 hours total......
  9. Got some paint on the body today..... not my smoothest paint job, as I was fighting a breeze when spraying the clear...... once it's sat a few days, I'll wet sand and polish. Thanks for the interest! and for any comments......
  10. Something to keep in mind...... DupliColor paints are very much affected by the color primer that you use. You can change the whole tone of a color by changing the color primer...... make sure that if you have several parts to be the same color, that you use the same color primer on all of them........
  11. Hey, Roger....... I really like that color combo! You seem undecided on the wheels..... Have you thought about artillery wheels? I think they would suit this build well......
  12. I've noticed this a lot lately.... kits that used to be rated as a skill level 2 are now advertised as level 3, and new tool releases are being sold as level 4, and even 5 on some.... You guys think they are doing this to appeal to the adult modeler more? New tool kits ARE more detailed, such as decals and smaller parts not thought about in past kits, but what about old kits being reissued? Why change the ratings on them?
  13. I do primer, paint, and clear all in one day. I like to do it all while I'm "in the groove" so to speak......... you do want to wait about 3 or 4 days to polish the clear, tho..... These paint jobs aren't polished, once you get the hang of the spray pattern it's almost impossible to get orange peel and such....
  14. Thanks.... the speed parts are in the kit, the one with the yellow truck on the box.....
  15. Roger and I had the same idea for skirts........ he was cool enough to make a pair and send them to me..... best forum!
  16. The Revellogram '37 Ford coupe has a nice IFS setup........
  17. Howz about this one?
  18. From what I've been able to find as far as online info, the Countach seems to have been made with the option to make it motorized, where the Porsche is based on an enthusiast series model.... I guess that means the 959 would be the more accurate and detailed one.......
  19. I think these will do! It's the lenses from a '61 Impala..... As soon as I get some primer, I can begin to make some real progress.......
  20. TOOL is on Napster now....... something I thought I would never see. They have a new single out called "Fear Inoculum" from an upcoming album by the same name........ It sounds pretty good....
  21. That's pretty cool of you, Tom! The more I looked at the mock-up tho, the more I thought the taillights were too large. James Hetfield did the same treatment with this pickup, but the lights look much smaller on his. What do you guys think about maybe using these instead?
  22. Cool, Thanks guys! I'm trying out the idea of working the taillight pods from a '57 Del Rio into the rear fenders..... I think it's gonna look pretty good.
  23. I've removed the mold seams..... there were a bunch on the cab and hood. Also working on smoothing some stuff out..........
  24. I have a birthday coming up, and would like to get my first large scale auto kit....... There are two kits in particular that I would be interested in. One is the 1/16 Porsche 959, the other is the 1/16 Lamborghini Countach LP500S. They are both from Fujimi.......... Anyone have pics of one or both of these kits, reviews, or any opinions regarding them? If you do, please share.........
