What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)
PatW replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've started this today, it's been on the shelf for at least ten years. The company Modelzone went bust about then! They left a big shop unit empty for at least two years in a local shopping mall. The start of the engine is in front of the box. -

PatW replied to PatW's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Thanks Larry. Just been watching the latest rounds of the World Superbike Championships from Misano in Italy, super racing, with all the latest versions of bikes from all of the manufacturers! -
Tamiya Ducati 888

Cheers Bruce, yes a great deal of fun, with a super kit! -
Bought as an 'already started' only the wheel stand though. Built box stock except the decals were trash other than the Ducati logo, the Dunlop front fork, the 'carbon' ones on the exhausts and the AGIP ones. The new number plates are white decal paper and the numbers come from my stash. And a new one for me attaching all of the plastic hollow tubing 'cables'!

Mine was delivered today, just two days after buying from Dave, sprue cutters included. I opened the box, plans, decals and three bags, the truck, the trailer and the buggy, superb!

I started a Tamiya Ducati 888, whilst waiting for the LEGO spares for the other build up. Rear wheel assembly.. One of the exhausts that have three carbon fibre decals on each plus chrome pipes (Molotow pen) and a clear orange on top. -

Finished the LEGO Ducati Panigale V4R The two pieces that were missing from the kit arrived yesterday, so I finished it today around the front fairing and added the Ducati 'stickers' that are sticky and need to be placed right first time. -

Here we are again! Just coming to the end and... just two of the last pieces the nosecone are missing from the kit, so order them from LEGO and await their delivery. The interesting bit was clipping the 35 piece chain together! All the suspension works as does the steering and engine movement. -

Having had my new LEGO Ducati delivered last week, I thought I'd start building it. Here we have the frame, engine, gear box, rear swinging arm, with mono-shock suspension and rear hub awaiting the rear brake disc. It's good to realise when turning the parts connected the two white rubber bands the V-four cylinder engine and pistons pop up and down in the cylinders. About 100+ parts already used. -
Thanks espo yes either rust or just dirt!

Richard Lloyd Racing Canon Porsche 956
PatW replied to curt raitz's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Well done, very nice indeed. I was marshaling at Silverstone Circuit just 5 miles from here, when Richard was testing this car prior to the Le Mans race that year! -
Thanks Les. Yes the EMPI decals are in this kit.

Funny name for a Beetle. Built box stock, changed the exhaust as it seemed a bit weedy, added very small plastic tube, slightly larger alloy tube and a larger one then the large pipe to finish. Decals from the kit and a few from the collection..

Just coming to the end of a Revell Baja Chopper build.. -
Hi Claude thanks for your comments, my son's real Beetle is the black one we re-built from the ground up. The Orange Manx has the tops of the wings cut out to let the air out at top speed, having been to Le Mans seeing the top class sports car teams using that method to stop the air pressure under the wings at speed to stop them taking off, not that the Manx would! Another view below. The decals are home printed as is the surfboard home made from a plaster cast. Oh and just finishing this off..

Scratchbuilt from a Flintstone resin body.. Another scratchbuild from a resin body.. Plus seven various Meyers Manx.

Having received a LEGO Land Rover Defender kit from our eldest son who is in Canada for my birthday I had to tell him I had last year already bought and built one! He contacted Amazon who sent him, which was forwarded to me a returns pack. I sent it to the address as requested to Bratislava. 6 weeks on it came back unopened although I had tracked it to their warehouse there. I then put it on e bay UK and it sold. With that cash I bought another LEGO kit.. I will start to build it as soon as I have finished my present project. And from the rest of the cash from the sale of the Lego Land Rover.. A friend rallied one of these in the day, when he had a rally spares shop. He went on to be the team chief at Peugeot Rally Team GB.

It's my wife's smart phone, we neither of us understand the jargon in the instructions! I have a dumb phone that I might use once or twice a month, my phone number is known only to my wife and our two sons!
