  1. Yeah, it would be difficult for it to be any worse than what you've got now. At least once it's out you can decide which is better. I've got three of the MPC kits and haven't built them because they're going to be so much work to make right.
  2. The Revell 32 Ford kits have a modern AC compressor. Also, the Revell 59 Cadillac kits has AC and an air compressor for the self leveling system.
  3. Yeah, the twist is only a few degrees. They should straighten out fine.
  4. My twisting looked more like it was due to how they were placed in the box than mold or cooling time issues. Mine are twisted slightly at the rear where there is just a single attachment point to the sprue.
  5. Other folks can speak better to accuracy than I can but Revell is supposed to have a new tool 71 Boss 351 kit out by the end of the year. Personally I would wait until then instead of putting any effort into the AMT or MPC kits.
  6. Both of the frames in mine are slightly twisted but should be fine once it's attached to the base plate.
  7. One of my go to ebay stores is DiOlex Productions. The 3d printed bodies are a bit rough but everything else is nice. https://www.ebay.com/str/diolexproduction
  8. The best source really depends on what you're looking for. No one place caters to every style of wheel.
  9. In a thread a while back someone who had a stock long bed frame compared it to a USA-1 frame. They are different enough to believe that the stock frame wasn't altered to make the monster truck frame. Now, what became of it and the short bed stuff I have no idea. There seems to be a lot of AMT/MPC tooling that met its end in that late 90s period.
  10. Thanks guys, yeah it was a fun little quick build.
  11. You've got a few options, in 1/25 scale you've got the AMT/Lindberg 53 Sunliner and the AMT 58 Edsel "ultimate" kit. Then in 1/24 scale there is the upcoming reissue of the Monogram 56 Thunderbird. The closest tire cover to the picture is in the Thunderbird kit but it might look a tad out of scale.
  12. I'm seriously jealous, I want one of these kits in the worst way.
  13. Yeah, they've had labeling issues for a long time. Personally, I hope we get the 3n1 kit, it's just odd that the pictures look like a kit that hasn't been seen for over 30 years.
  14. Look at the wheel fitment and the shape of the wheel arches in this kit, this is a variant of the CHiPs kit.
  15. The orange car is the Airfix kit, it has the non-stock spoiler.
  16. That was my understanding too, the finished car was going to be a different color with different wheels.
  17. That's pretty much the jist of it, he said "Eleanor" in the videos so he was "profiting from her intellectual property" so they made him relinquish the car. It's a beautiful car but F*** T*** B****. Yeah, a 71-73 hero car would have been really cool.
  18. You have to be careful calling something an "Eleanor" car though. That name has been copyrighted by a company that does complete car builds. A youtube channel was using an "Eleanor" body kit to basically rebody a 2010ish Mustang with 67 sheet metal and the fiberglass kit. The company found out and threatened them and ended up taking the car.
  19. For reference, the Airfix kit has vents in the hood and a whaletail-esque spoiler.
  20. I only ever got to see two of my dad's completed builds, he'd gotten rid of the rest by the time I came along. He found this one his parents attic when I was 10 or 11 along with a bunch of old Pactra paints. He described it to me as a moonshine running car complete with external drain taps on the passenger side. Being a child I destroyed the original and didn't know enough about cars to know what kind of car it actually was. I bought the reissue of the 65 Fairlane knowing it wasn't that great but wanting to see if there was anything useful in the kit. Upon examining the contents they started to look very familiar, I'm certain this is the kit he used for this build. So, I decided to recreate his build as it was given to me almost 30 years. Nothing fancy, built like a teenager would have done back when this kit was first released. The only parts from a different kit are the high riser intake and velocity stacks from the AMT 68 Shelby Mustang.
  21. Yep, I've used one a few years ago but never noticed a big difference in my sleep. I just did another sleep study last month at the request of my lung doc. In the last six months I've developed shortness of breath which as someone who never smoked is a bit of a kick in the pants. This time I couldn't get enough air through any type of mask and had a pretty severe panic attack trying to wear the stupid thing. I haven't seen my doc since the test, I don't know what I'm going to pursue. I sleep in my recliner most nights due to back pain so even if I had a cpap in the bedroom I'd rarely use it.
  22. I imagine the demands on the axle are a bit different, NASCAR racing probably doesn't have near the shock loads on the axle as drag racing does.
  23. Thank you guys for giving me some options.
  24. I'm looking for these hubcaps to build a replica of my dad's Pacer. Even if I can get close it will be fine.
  25. The one from some versions of the Revell 69 Nova is very good and some kit breakers are selling just the engine on ebay. There is also a more stock one with an automatic transmission in the AMT 72 Chevy truck.
