How does it work?
signguy2108 replied to Warren D's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ha,my father in law back in the 90's would have thrown a chain over the truck frame, one over the bed and then tell me to be careful !!!!! -
lookup accell supercoil, it was the thing to have before the MSD stuff came along

sorry, thought it was a legitimate question, lol. Ive hauled auction stuff like this before, at the end of the trip, when u make that last turn into the yard, u take a deep breath, look to the sky, and say thank u! this one is tied down better than some i've seen..... -

Looks like a couple of auction pcs, the bed is just strapped onto the truck for transport. -
What did you see on the road today?
signguy2108 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Seen this at the detail shop today, picture doesn't do the color justice, deep green met. Detail guy said it had about a 1/4 inch of dust on it this morning, first time out of the garage in 4 years! -

Good job, reminds me of one a local lumber mill had, and like my little short Ford, I bet it was fun to drive on wet pavement! -

Nice, clean truck, I like the trailers too.... -
The headlights i can live with, get rid of those stupid looking breather boxes, even thought that Western daycab is pretty cool with all the add ons.

I think ive still got some of these guards and the amber chicken lights in a box somewhere! There are still trucks around here using them, most have gone to the small peterbilt style led's now. Haven't really thought about em on my models.

Aughhhh!! The 389 is being retired?????
signguy2108 replied to clayton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Even if it's phased out, just like the 359's, you will still see em around for the next 40 yrs or so, no huge concern...I got a friend that just ordered 4 new 2020 389's, all 72" sleepers, should b here in about a month. He bought 6 567's and 3 579's (1 has the EQIP lower aero package, cool looking truck) before the end of last yr, all silver met, all pulling tankers. -
Maybe for arguments sake, the frt is a little too high, maybe the w/well could have been a little further forward, but a great looking model as is. I love the color and the decals. here is one that sits abandon in an arkansas salvage yard....altered w/b and still got the straight axle and no, not for sale

I still use the good ole orange/white testors, but i use the loctite with an accelerator for resin and scratchbuilding.
