  1. Mind if I ask where the decals are from
  2. High dollar builds with loads of aftermarket isn't something I'm interested in. I don't do contests, as I build for my case and my case alone. Thats said, I think the most I've got tied up in any single one build is maybe $100 , $125 at the very most. Now,that said . I may have that or more tied up in a kit. But keep in mind, I tend to buy vintage kits and old annuals. And I have a few I've paid over $100 for. Those are mostly curbsides and other than maybe $10 in paint. Thats pretty much tops them out investment wise. BUT,,,,I dont really need to keep track of my spending on MY version of a HOBBY. My bills are paid my wife and I pretty much buy what we want , and my 2 girls don't go without what they may need.
  3. agreed. I like the 67 the best. Mainly due to the uniqueness of it.
  4. Im in. This is one of my favorite kits. Ive done a few of them ,,,, And I have maybe another 3 or 4 to build. fyi, Both Testors and Tamiya have there own version of champagne gold. I've use them both for the interior . Also fit and re-fit the grille to the body around the headlight to fender attaching area to get the best fit. if not the thing hangs and leaves a gap on the top near the hood
  5. yes. Based on the recently released all new fast and fuious kit
  6. Gee thanks, Now Im looking for a clean 1967 Bonneville kit ( builder ) Did a google search just now, and I think I'll stick with just a 67. Dont care much for the 68 or newer front end Already have a nice 65 Gran Prix done.
  7. Yep, No roll bar in either of Lawman 64 Plymouth
  8. On vacation this past week in . But still kept an eye on some plastic for the pile. Picked up an unbuilt Johan 64 Dodge . I already have a few of them but for the price I just couldn't pass it up. Especially the fact its molded in a light cream color ,,,,an almost white. Came from one of Facebook groups I'm part of And a decent builder MPC 1970 Mercury Cyclone off Ebay. Ive been trying to get either an original issue 70 or 71 Cyclone for a while now .
  9. unless it had chrome tips. All barracuda or cuda had the notched rear valance. And all AARs had the notched valance
  10. great. Jus what I need. More to add to the want list. Just when i think I've found all I need/want. More cool subjects grab my attention.
  11. when i asked him about them. I had to buy a body to get them. I passed
  12. I'm Prob a my gonna wish I handy asked this. But was a convertible 67 to 69 kit made. These cars have never done much for me. But I could be talked into it of its a droptop.
  13. Sounds familiar. Ive been known to blow off mowing grass / home chores before to work on models. So I guess I deserve it . But my wife has told me before it sure beats the alternatives. I'm not out running around or hanging in bars. I think we ALL have to have a hobby to keep our sanity.
  14. These are some of the earliest pictures I've seen of the truck showing its 1st power plant. Best I can remember it was basically robbed straight out of the A990 based Race Hemi bins back then I used to have the original build article ( lost it in a PC crash a few years ago ) That is killer for details on how it was built
  15. Pay close attention to the door and hinge fit and they will operate as designed. Mine ' did ' ,,,at least until I dropped it. Sadly they are now permanently glued shut. I've always wanted to replicate the one above. But with no source for the white lettering I never moved forward with the idea .
  16. I hate to hear of any company going bellyup. Especially a smaller hobbyist owned company like them . But to be honest, It would have zero effect on me. Actually I could never buy another kit in my life time and I have enough stashed away to take me to the end of my days . The past few years Ive been stocking up my planned retirement builds stash. And to be honest 90% of them have been old annuals not produced in the past 30-40 years . The other 10% has been extremely selective as to subject matter,,,,,irregardless of manufacturer.
  17. very nice My dad bought one that looked exactly like it in 1973 . Although his was a 6 cyl 3 spd. on the tree
  18. I don't build much outside box stock anymore. Ive done my share of drilling and wiring up dist caps and engines for many years in the past. Now if I want to add that kind of detail ( which is rare anymore ) . I use these,,,,,might I suggest http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ for $5 ea. how can you go wrong. Avail in all kinds of wire colors and dist cap colors to fit most any need
  19. My wife is very supportive. Although shortly after we starting dating many years ago . I think she asked herself what she was getting into when I paid over $100 for a model car . But she soon realized I had a good idea what I was doing when I sold same kit for well over $200 . Now ,,,, when I paid over $500 for a kit I think she thought I lost my friggen mind . I realized having that kind of money tied up in one kit was crazy, so soon sold it and got all my investment back out of it . Although she wonders sometimes just how I can sit there for hours on end and work with all those tiny pieces. And both my daughters think they're cool. ,,, my youngest has even built a few herself. But school and high school soccer and a part time job pretty much takes up most of her time . Hopefully she'll build again. My wife and both daughters have been around old cars since day one. She knew what she was getting into and decided to stick around anyway. ( thanks babe ) Plus both my girls have been raised in and around old cars from the day they were born. ( my oldest came home from the hospital in a blue 1969 GTX convertible when she was born ) And BOTH of them want some old car of there own at some point in there life. My wife is starting to say we need to get another old car ,,,soon. I just realized its been almost 10 years since I sold my 1970 Challenger 340 . Yep, time to start looking for another one for the garage .
  20. Very nice. Are the decals readily avail for this car ?
  21. The LRW was constantly changing over the years. Ive seen it run many times . But the last few years around.( maybe 10 or so ) It was the blown hemi version with the mural along the lower body This is one of,,,,, if not the first version of it . As far as I know this is the only version where the lettering is white instead of the more common yellow
  22. Ive got a 1970 Chevelle kit on hand that I wasn't sure what to do with it. Count me in for a set of these when they're ready . Will ck to see if theres any others I may need. I need to do some looking around for various decals. I want to stock up on before they disappear
  23. Very cool. Ive seen this very dart in person. Its a really cool car to see in person
