I had thought about replacing the decals with after market.
But.....just cant bring myself to pull it apart.
I've got maybe 4 or 5 more builds. Similar condition that will most likely remain as is(all old drag cars )
My appologies to the op for taking the original post way off track .
Tough call. My 1st thought is use the current 71 and make it really nice / accurate replica .
BUT.......
I got lucky and managed to pick up a real clean built car a couple years ago.
As I was giving some serious thoughts to build one from the current 71 Duster . Now,,,,I have serious doubt I'll ever take this apart and do anything to upgrade it. Its survived this long I would feel bad to take it apart now
Wasnt me, didnt even bid on it.
I did bid on the 67 chrysler ,,,but got outbid earlier today.
Im buying to build and wasnt going to pay extraordinary amount to get it
Grey primer on the floor with some body color over-spray along the outer edges, more in the inner wheel house areas.
undercoating then sprayed in the wheel house areas.
rear axle suspension stuff with be a semi gloss black rear axle , leaf springs will be either bare metal or black .
gloss black front lower K frame , the front suspension is mostly bare steel
shocks are a low gloss black both ends
That's a pretty interesting configuration.
I know Chrysler tried mechanical FI systems in 1958 , Chevrolet had it in 1957 , Think Cadillac ( or was it Pontiac ) tried it as well in the late 50s. Corvettes had it again what was it 1963 or 64 ?
Wasn't aware anyone tried it again till late 70s - early 80s time frame.
I like it.
good colors.
ive got 2 of these,,, one as a keeper and one as trade material. This kit came with an uptop originally. Unfortunately, I only have one uptop
To delete pics as an example.
What i got today. ...some from several years ago. Makes no sense to me to keep them
Or items for trade material. Again why keep them here if said item is long long gone
Especially pictures in threads that are several years old.
Or multiple threads were same picture is posted.
Ive got over 35 pages of pictures here........ just would be easier to delete them at my choice
Once uploaded to this server / account. is there a way to delete photos?
I'm getting tired rummaging thru multiple pictures here to find the one I need, as most of the ones I have here are in long dead threads and I would really like to just delete them
Well,
the 66 Fury is out of my budget.
SO ,,,I decided to try and am currently high bidder on same sellers 1967 Chrysler 300
So all you other guys stay away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL
Then I'm out before I was in
That was my max I was willing to go. And I would have built it at some point. the days of me buying shelf ornaments are over.
Although I do have a few that will remain untouched , I don't have ANYWHERE near this kind of $$$$ in them
The comment ' I have not done a piece by piece inventory ' may hold it back from top dollar . It would me.
I would like to have one of these, ( actually would prefer a 65 ) But if it stays under $200, I may sneak in at the end ,,, might ,,,,,
In all honesty. Resin doesnt really interest me.
BUT.
I could get serious about a 1970 Chrysler 300. Think Hurst 300.
And maybe even a 1970 Plymouth Fury GT
Wheres the fun in that.......LOL.
for the time being...im living vicariously through you bro.
I havent even built a bench yet. Yet alone work on a model in over a year...closer to 2 now since the move to AZ.
