Nice looking build! As for polishing Future, I used 8000 and then 12000 polishing cloths, then Novus Fine Scratch Remover and finally Novus polish on this Falcon Ranchero.

Nope, I'm talking about denatured alcohol. I saw that tip here on the forum. Do a search for denatured alcohol in the Model Building Q & A. Got a gallon at WM and it works better than anything I've tried so far. Didn't destroy anything. I'm going to give the water and acetone mixture a shot too. Here's a pic of the stuff I'm using now.

I've tried a lot of glues that are recommended here on the forum. I've just started using Super Jet and it has become my go to glue for almost everything. I ordered some of their medium thickness and it's pretty thin. I may try some of their thicker stuff next time.
The SMER was one of the first kits I tried when I returned to the hobby. I thought it would be easy but the seam did present problems for my limited skills. I may create something different with it some day.
