Harry P. Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I say bring it on! Today's high temp was 61. Not too shabby for Chicago in late December. Of course we had a boatload of rain to go with the warm temps, but hey... you don't have to shovel rain! All I can say is that every day this time of year I'm not shoveling something is a winner in my book.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I dunno. It's gonna be 70 here on Christmas day, it's thundering now, and the summer mold and mildew are making a mid-winter comeback. It's jus' not right. I LIKE snow. It paralyzes the South, and 2" can get me 3 days off from work. Shovel it? Why? It'll melt soon enough on its own.
Harry P. Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 I remember not too long ago that Atlanta was "paralyzed" when an inch or two of snow fell. Hilarious.
Petetrucker07 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Right now it's 42. It's supposed to be mid 40s on Christmas day and rainin. I wouldn't mind a little snow. It doesn't last very long here, half a day most of the time.

You guys are normally getting POUNDED by snow and ice by this time of year. Maybe this warm weather is a gift for Christmas. A break from the weather!!
slusher Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 75 here today and air conditioning ran some. Will we pay for it with heavy snow in the north and light snow in the south. 1 inch gets schools closed here..
Joe Handley Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I've said this many a time already, after the last two winters, I'll happily take this for one if it stays no worse than it's been
peteski Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I'm loving it in the Boston area! After last winter of the Century I will be happy never to see snow again! Just tonight we again escaped what could have been several inches of snow (it was in the 50's and raining). Christmas day it will be in the 70s! I'm thinking that since I had a metal roof installed on my house in May and I just bought 4 new tires for my car, it's a safe bet that I'll see very little snow this winter!
Belugawrx Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Played Golf TODAY I'mLovin' it well besides the fact that the world will implode in the next 250 years or so ... Merry Klikamaka....Cheers
oldnslow Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Yep, this Christmas is supposed to be stupid warm, sun and low 80s.Welcome to Florida.
ChrisBcritter Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Green Christmases in Chicago seem to happen about as often as white ones, according to the Tribune - I just hope for no big storms in February or March when we're all sick of looking at it!
Foxer Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I don't know ... in New England, it's just not right for the sleigh to be stuck in mud.
Crazy Ed Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Christmas Day we might hit 60, Saturday n Sunday there's a chance of Snow. Ah Life in S.E. Arizona. Merry Christmas To ALL, No matter Your Weather.
mikemodeler Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 In the 70s for a second day in a row here, the wife insisted on turning the A/C on last night as the house was too warm (her words). Gonna be in the 70's through Monday at least, and then a "cool down" into the 60's! Just might get some bodies painted if the rain moves out and the humidity drops!Definitely not normal weather for most of the US but I think we all have learned to enjoy it while we have it.
JTalmage Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) Nearly had tornados last night where I live.In '09 we had a warm winter here as well. I chock it up to extrapolated climate patterns. But yeah, I can totally live with it! If I don't have to put the mud tires on my Ranger then I'm a happy person. They're heavy lol Edited December 24, 2015 by JTalmage
Erik Smith Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Do I like shoveling snow? No. Not even a little bit. But...after last year's summer, when we didn't get any snow last winter, I will shovel all winter to avoid hundreds of thousands (pretty darn close to one million) acres on fire in our state, Washington. Here is one evening on the Carpenter Road Fire that ended up burning about 65,000 acres in an area most of us never imagined could happen
Mike 1017 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) HarryI was driving on Cicero by Midway yesterday and Cicero was down to 2 lanes in a lot of spots. The reason that it floods is because of all the junk clogging up the sewer caps. The Thornton Quarry had lots of run off in it. So Deep Tunnel is working.Mike Edited December 24, 2015 by Mike 1017 wrong word
unclescott58 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I hate snow! We got a dusting here yesterday in the afternoon. Not enough to shovel. I'm happy to say. As I write this, it's 25 degrees fahrenheit. Not as cool as it can be for this time of year. But, not warm either. It has been a warm fall/winter so far. But, we've seen this before. Weather seems to go through cycles from what I've seen seen. This year it's warm. Next year we'll freeze our butts off. Nothing new. I'm going to enjoy not freezing my butt off for now. And I'll deal with the snow and cold when it comes.
sjordan2 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) My dog started woofing at the thunder and lightning last night at about 2 a.m. and continued until 4. But it's 70 and sunny now in Knoxville. 76 forecast for Saturday. This weather trend is usually attributed to El Niño-- The Christ Child -- since it usually appears at this time of year, every few years. Edited December 24, 2015 by sjordan2

I'm going out for a little walk before it gets dark. In short sleeves yet. Charlie Larkin
wayne swayze Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Here in southern Ontario, Canada our temp is around 46° and sunny, on Christmas eve day. Went for a country drive in my clean car with the sun roof open! Lovin' it!!
Foxer Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Got to 67 in the Berkshire Mountains of western MA today!
Snake45 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I'mLovin' it well besides the fact that the world will implode in the next 250 years or so ... Ain't gonna happen. Relax and stop listening to what some weird religious cult wants to preach to you (at profit to themselves, as always). Nobody can tell you whether or not it's gonna rain in your town a week from next Thursday. But they can tell you what the weather's gonna be a hundred years from now? Please.
