MrObsessive Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I'd have to put my '69 AMX as one of my all time favorites. I had a 1:1 390 4 spd during the late '80's into the '90's and I miss it dearly. It was a no frills, no options, go fast car! Believe it or not, it still had drum brakes on all fours and no power steering or brakes. The only reason I let it go was I being stationed at Fort Jackson S.C. and couldn't take the car with me. A fellow from upstate PA bought it from me, and that was the last time I saw it. Others I could include: 1957-58 Plymouth Belvedere/Fury (Dad owned a '57) 1957-58 Studebaker Golden Hawk (family friend had one of those) 1968-69 AMC Javelin (Mom first had a '68, then later a brand new '69 SST) I could name some others, but those popped into my mind first!
Shardik Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Of cars that I have owned, my favorites were:'67 Firebird convertible'72 Karman Ghia convertibleCars that I wish I owned:Toyota 2000 GT'39 Plymouth coupeOpel GT (actually the first car I ever drove)
Dann Tier Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 my favorite would be the Lamborghini Countach, then Pantera, 85 Porsche 911, BMC Mini cooper, and then, just about every Mopar from 1970 and older.

sjordan2 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) For a combination of styling and revolutionary technical aspects and just plain awesomeness, there's never been anything in the era after WWII, in my estimation, like the 1954-57 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing. There have been plenty of others that are equally as awesome since then, but this is my fave. Xingu Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I have a lot that I like, but my all-time favorite is the 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda Convertible. As I have gotten older, I would prefer it to have an automatic transmission bolted to either a Hemi or 440.
bbowser Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Wow Jon, one end of the spectrum to the other ! Interesting topic, most seem to gravitate towards cars they owned or wished they still had, that emotional connection we gearheads have towards our vehicles. In that vein, the car I learned to drive in, '64 Grand Prix, and a '65 Dodge van - the kind where you sit over the front wheel and the steering wheel is almost flat in front of you like a bus. Man I had fun in that thing!
Lizard Racing Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Some of these lists are downright exotic. My all-time favorite has to be Triumph Spitfire, especially a 1969 Mk. III with a factory hard top. The rose-colored glasses may be kicking in.
