BobbyHill16 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 I'm looking for ideas for a unique TV or movie vehicle. Something that does not come in a kit. Something different but not impossible. Some ideas to get the ball rolling. Disney/Pixar Pizza Planet truck Mutt Cutts from Dumb and Dumber Looking forward to your ideas.
lysleder Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 This one should be within reach of most of us. It appeared in the '80s movie "The Bachelor Party", and has not been seen since. ..and I for me think it is quite unique.
stitchdup Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 cheech and chongs van from up in smoke, or the ice cream truck from nice dreams
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Mostly flat panels, easy to scratch-build.
blunc Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Mostly flat panels, easy to scratch-build. from the movie Damnation Alley and a tv show I don't remember right now.
JollySipper Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 cheech and chongs van from up in smoke, or the ice cream truck from nice dreamsI've never seen either of these done in scale! What movie was it where they smuggle a van made of hemp across the border?
Snake45 Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 T.H.E. Cat '67 Vette. Was once available as an AMT kit but that's long extinct and way collectible. But it shouldn't be too hard to kitbash with modern available stuff. In fact, there was an article on how to build it in one of the old-school model car rags before the kit came out.

Phirewriter Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) I remember seeing the Damnation Alley van sitting in back of Dean Jeffries' shop years ago while visiting some friends in L.A. That thing was big, spotted it while on the freeway and a couple of days later drove over to see it. Edited February 12, 2017 by Phirewriter
Richard Bartrop Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Here's a few ideas: The Samos 3 from THX-1138. Basically a customized Lola T70 The title car from the film The Yellow Rolls Royce. You could probably get close with Italeri's Phantom II kit. The Star Car from The Last Starfighter. It's all nice flar surfaces so scratchbuilding shouldn't be too intimidating. The Wraith. Another scratchbuild with nice, simple shapes. Hope this helps
stitchdup Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 I've never seen either of these done in scale! What movie was it where they smuggle a van made of hemp across the border? up in smoke mate
Xingu Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 I believe there was a GMC ice cream truck in Killer Clowns From Outer Space. Would probably be difficult to do the lighted clown topper though.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Bug truck from MIB...again, slab-sided, easy to scratch...except for the large insect on the roof (not shown here).
Can-Con Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 This is not the Wraith ,, it's the "Black Moon". from the movie "Black Moon Rising". This is "The Wraith" ,, actually a PPG Indy Pace car with a highly modified Dodge 4 cylinder engine.
RancheroSteve Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Mostly flat panels, easy to scratch-build. I used to see that thing all the time sitting outside Dean Jeffries' shop on Cahuenga Blvd.
disconovaman Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 The King Cobra from Zookeeper, very 70's and unique with the dual sidepipes! I'd like to build this one myself...
Dann Tier Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 The Renault Robin Supervan from "Only Fools And Horses"

Robert Loggia in a cat burglar show with a gypsy theme.
