Drag Monster Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I finished my restoration of this 1960 Mercury comet I picked up as a built kit at a Estate Sale. This car has special memories for me, My grandfather had one just like this around 1964-65 I was about 4 years old. We would take my grandmother Shopping while she was in the store my Grandfather would let me sit on his lap and I would steer the car around the parking lot while he would operate the pedals. Great Memories, the first vehicle I ever drove!
espo Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Beautiful restoration, The finish and the chrome trim look perfect. I like the base Black Wall Tire look.
Maindrian Pace Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Super nice build, my avatar is my 1:1 '60 wagon. You don't often see these built to this level.
Lunajammer Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Beautiful, traditional look. I love it. Nice BMF work too.
Snake45 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Not a fan of this car, but wow, what a great restoration and outstanding workmanship. Nicely done and model on!

peekay Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 You did an excellent job on this, I really like it!
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Very nice! I see that you managed to come up with an acceptable solution for your tail light dilemma. You did a terrific job on them. How did you tackle the bezel issue? Steve
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Beautiful clean work. I don't recall those old annuals coming with clear headlights. Did you drill out the molded in / plated originals and fit replacements?
unclescott58 Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Very nice work. You did a beautiful job. I spent six years, from 1961 through 1967, riding around in a '61 Comet. My dad's first new car. Not a lot of differences between a 1960 and '61 Comet. I have a '61 promo I restored about 15 years ago or so, to look like my dad's Comet. It turned out nice. But no where as nice as yours. Good job.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 WOW!!!!!! My kind of car, and my kind of build. Superb job.
ChrisR Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Awesome! I have one untouched still in the box.
