Very stupid movie though. I always thought the late model Chrysler 300s looked like this car - high beltline, chopped, blocky roof, headlights and all. BTW, this is another one of George Barris custom cars and he ruined a classic Lincoln Mark III to do it. Thanks! It was a resin kit by Planet X, not very complex but it went together nicely. Funny you should mention the 300s...I want to do another one of these in its Futurama trim, and thought an AMT 300 would be the perfect starting point. RestoModGuy
I did a "what-if" the show was back on the air today restomod build of the Starksy and Hutch Stripped Tomato. Molded in the front bumper, added a hood scoop, custom wheels and low-profile tires and stanced ride height, recaro seats replace the bench seat and of course a total redesign of the big fat stripe. ChrisBcritter
"Uh... I don't have it finished yet, man." "Well, then, read what you have, young man." It's the '64 Coupe deVille from the chase scene through Chicago's Navy Pier in Cooley High: Got a ways to go yet, but it's getting there. If you're familiar with the Jo-Han kit, you'll spot all the mods to the hood and interior.

Don't know about the yellow Mustang, but there was a green fastback on "Spenser, for hire" And the Tbird was from a show called "Vega$"
StevenGuthmiller
The only thing that I have built that you might call a "movie car" was an "interpretation" of the '61 Ford Starliner in the movie Hollywood Knights. I took a few liberties with it, but a lot of it was up for interpretation anyway as it made a very limited appearance in the movie. Modelbuilder Mark
Some very nice renditions on here. I tried to watch Hollywood Knights again recently, forgot just how cheesy it was, not the cars.....Nice job Steve. Restomod Jim, I can certainly see how that would be a realistic option for a show done now.

I think this might be the one you're talking about. The car was cool, but I don't think the show was on for that long back in the 80s, that's probably why no-one remembers it.
