AMT had a '69 Camaro Convertible they issued many years ago. That one as I recall had a well formed body unlike the later issued coupe. Begs the question is this a comingling of parts trees or maybe even body improvements ? On the plus side this Convertible Boot could make it much easier to convert the Revell '67 Camaro kit into a convertible.

Before the new body, the kit was released as an MPC convertible around 1987.

The box art for the Valiant Scamp sure makes it look like a Dodge Swinger, instead of a Scamp.

I assume it’s the Petty Dart kit with different decals and box art.

Is the '63 Impala kit any good?

the '69 Yenko Camaro(as long as the body's not wonky like a couple of earlier posts have suggested).

Avoid that one. It really is a poor kit, and Revell's 1/25 '69 Yenko Camaro is excellent...and probably cheaper, too.

Possibly even the Charger, but the Snap-Tite part of it worries me as far as it being kind of a cheaply done kit. Hopefully Chris(hpiguy) can get his hands on all of these

He reviewed the kit a few years ago, when it debuted in the General Lee livery:

And this version was out not too long ago, too:

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. All the re-issues get a little confusing sometimes, LOL.

I know some have been critical of Round 2 for not coming out with much in the way of all-new 1/25th kits, but I am impressed with the effort they have made in restoring old kits.  A good example of this is the '63 Impala SS.  It was mentioned that the missing firewall is now included as a new part, along with a couple of other parts under the hood.  Hopefully these kits sell in large quantities and enables them to continue doing what they're doing.

I like what Round2 is doing, but I wish they would update a few kits and not have the promo type chassis.

Now that would be really cool™.

And I'd be really excited about™ it.

Will it have molded in taillights like the Model King version I built several years ago?

I freeze-framed the box-bottom shot at 1080p and... yep, they're molded in again - no stock lights on the clear red tree.

Give 'em brownie points for tooling a new firewall with a separate master cylinder, at least, rather than tossing in the one from the '64 Impala.

People don't understand their business.  They purchased all of that tooling not all that long ago with the intent of using it. They are in the nostalgia business, bringing back the old kits we all remember.  The comments that the tooling is "bought and paid for" isn't correct.  These are new owners of that tooling and no doubt have debt against it that needs to be paid.  So that tooling must be worked.

It gives us another chance to appease the model gods by getting a build right this time as adults!

I wonder if they included a radiator also, the last release didn't have one.

Round2 bought all of this tooling - minus the Lindberg stuff - over a decade ago at this point.  They're hardly new owners anymoreI'm fairly confident that as we're creaking into 2020 it's more than been paid for at this point.

To quote Carroll O'Conner in Kelly's Heroes: "THAT's the kinda fightin' spirit I've been talkin' about!" B)

Round 2 has chosen to spend their development dollars on repair and restoring the automotive tooling they have to satisfy those who are in the market for nostagic kits. In addition they've chosen to spend development money new tooling for the sci fi market. Sound like a pretty good plan to me.

So very true.  It's why I hope Round2 brings back the Astro-Vette

I'd buy and build one of those, but the rear fender skirts would have to go.

Ha! Motor Trend had the same sentiment when the car was new: "...fender skirts? Oh, come now!"

No joke about it, they do, especially when two visually different boxes are released within a few years of one another, yet contain the same kit.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't spend any money on the AMT/MPC '69 Camaro. The new box art is gorgeous, and the decals will likely be well done, too, but see here, please:

That certainly sounds like a hot mess. Thanks again for the info.
