So fresh off of the workbench there was still wet gloo when I took the pictures! I built this '32 Roadster to represent an early 50's hot rod built during the transitional era from Flatheads to overhead-valve engines like the Buick "Nailhead" which debuted in 1953.

Chassis: Revell 1932 Ford series frame back-dated with a Revell 1940 Ford center "X" and rear cross member. Revell '32 series dropped axle front suspension. Revell '48 Ford rear axle and suspension.

Brakes: Early Ford brake plates and Buick finned drums from Revell '29 Roadster / '30 Coupe.

Wheels & Tires: Revell '29 Roadster / '30 Coupe with Revell '40 Convertible "Deluxe" hubcaps.

Engine & Trans: Buick block, cylinder heads, timing cover, water pump, belt drive and modified headers from Revell '29/'30 Fords. Revell '57 Chevy fan and generator. Revell Tony Nancy 22jr valve covers and oil pan. AMT '40 Ford 3-carb intake with Revell Tweedy Pie carburetors. ProTech fuel line and fittings, Detail Master wired distributor. Revell Tweedy Pie adapter bellhousing and early Ford 3-speed trans. 

Body: Revell "Rat Roaster" '32 Roadster and windshield. Revell '32 Series grill, small headlights and '50 Pontiac taillights.

Interior: Modified Revell '40 Ford dashboard and steering wheel. Modified Monogram 1930 Ford Touring seat and side panels. Revell '32 Roadster floor & bulkhead. AMT vintage seatbelts.

Paint: Tamiya Racing White, Gloss Black, Light Gunmetal and Light Earth.

Dennis, you Nailed it- Pun absolutely intended!!

Very, very nice. Excellent mixing and matching of all the period correct components. There's nothing out of place or the wrong era. Reminds me of your full size T in that regard. The engine details really hit the mark, with chrome steel valve covers, not ribbed aluminum, and converting it to tri-power with a fuel log- just great! I think that, the 40 dash and steering wheel, and the wheels and tires make the car. I love the combination of those steelies and rings matched with the 40 deluxe caps. They're big enough in diameter that you see the proper amount of painted wheel between the ring and the cap in the center. This was one of the draw backs with the 1/25th AMT wheels- the proportions were wrong. The combination you put together looks perfect, especially with those block and rib tires. I sure hope Revell somehow brings back their 29/30 kits!

Awesome, Dennis. Keep up the good work! Oh, and be sure and let the glue dry before your scale driver takes it for a spin....  :)

Well folks, now that's how ya do it. Take the very best period parts from some of the best kits, modify and assemble at a very high skill level. The result is what most would call the perfect period hot rod. It's got a great stance and perfect amount of channel. Great color choice. Clearly a LOT of thought and planning went into this build. Dennis you never let us down.

An absolutely perfect hotrod. Well done. Great to see such attention to detail and thoughtful use of period perfect parts.
