afx Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Won this recently re-issued MPC kit in a raffle. My inspiration for the build was the JDM Legends shop truck. Added the Go-Kart from the recently issued '60 Chevy pickup. Here is the build thread on both the pickup and Go-Kart. Edited March 17, 2019 by afx
cobraman Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Looks really good. You did a fine job with this kit. Back to the drag car ????
afx Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Thanks Ray, yep back to the A/FX Falcon. Edited March 18, 2019 by afx
espo Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 I followed your build on this and really like the way it turned out. The Go Cart is really special also.
Tom Geiger Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Very nice and clean work! I still have this kit sitting up next to my bench and the voices in my head are screaming into overtime with ideas for it. I have saved your build thread for inspiration. We will see what I do next!
mikemodeler Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Nice work, I have a couple of those to build and one version is similar to what you built- clean and simple.
afx Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Glad you guys like it. I look forward to seeing your build Tom.
TarheelRick Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Really sweet build of one of my favorite all-time trucks. I owned a '74 regular cab and a '78 King Cab. You have created a real street screamer out of this one. One thing I have noticed about this kit is the lack of support for the pickup box. I put a California Stepside on my '74 and remember there are stamped steel channel crosspieces on the underside of the floor of the bed to attach it to the chassis.
afx Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 (edited) Thanks for the comments gentlemen. Ricky, the kit has it shortcoming to be sure. My goal was a simple build focused more on the look and less on the last detail. Edited March 17, 2019 by afx
mustang1989 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 You did a good job putting this one together JC. I hear what you're saying on a simple build. Lots of times it's difficult to stay focused with a really entailed build. Great work here buddy.
Mr. Metallic Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 This build has forced me to add this kit to my want list. Your build is so subtle, but well done. But we've come to expect that from your bench JC. Well done
afx Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 Appreciate the comments gentlemen. I hope my build thread helps Craig when you get around to building your truck.
PappyD340 Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Pretty sweet truck, brings back memories I bought a 74 Lil Hustler in 74 was a darned good truck! well done!!
oldcarfan Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Looks great! Are you going to sell copies of those wheels? LOL

Dann Tier Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 BRILLIANT build, bud!!!!, this is a perfect example of how something simplistic, and normally average could have you staring at it saying; "Theres something different about that little truck.....might not wanna race it", lol
afx Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 Thanks Dann. It was a fun build. A nice break from my more involved projects.
