misterNNL Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Well fellow model magazine readers it's finally happened, inside the latest issue of Scale Auto cover there is a ad for the Inogen brand portable oxygen concentrator. We are officially old! Don't get me wrong, they are literally life savers. My wife uses one every day due to her COPD. What's next pix of Alex Trebec pushing life insurance?Remember it's " price, price and price"
Rob Hall Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Saw that..a sad reminder of the current state of the hobby in the US.
Joe Handley Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 And now I'm seeing an ad for one right on this page
espo Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I also saw that. Makes you wonder what's next ? Maybe Depends and reverse mortgages.
SfanGoch Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Hmmm....I see an ad from Govberg Jewelers advertising Pre-Owned Rolex GMT-Master II “Coke” 16710 Our Price $8,450.00 Put me down for two.
High octane Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Getting older is a privilege denied to many, so count your blessings and enjoy them.
Lizard Racing Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Next could be an aging celebrity pushing reverse mortgages.

Their TV adds always send you to their ads in the golf magazines. Yet another reason I’ll never take up golf.
bamadon Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Guess I'm lucky. I'm seeing an ad for Barber Motorsports Historic Races May 18 & 19.

ewetwo Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I got mine the month I turned 55. They must have data bank.
misterNNL Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 I'm sure all of our information is available to just about anyone. If we even look at something on line we start getting marketing calls and Emails almost immediately. Data is a very marketable commodity.
randyc Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I saw the Inogen ad. Then the article on the "most wanted" where there was also the demographics of the respondents. The age of the respondents correlates with the age group of the ad I guess. And it's a full page ad, so I guess they made good money for at least that issue. Maybe MCM needs more ads like that? Unfortunately. I don't like it but part of the price of being able to move along I suppose.

Jim N Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 For years the readers of Scale Auto have been asking for more content or page count in the magazine. The editors informed the readers that they needed more advertising revenue to increase the content of the magazine. If ads like this help toward that end, what's the harm? If you don't like an ad or it does not apply to you, then don't read the page. It's that simple. For the medications and other products that are getting the snarky remarks in this thread, it's significant to remember one thing, they help people! It's wonderful that those of you who are in your 40's and older can claim to feel like you are in your 20's. Count your blessings. I know of a few people who are in their 40's and they feel like they are in their 60's or 70's. They drew the short straws when it came to how their health would hold up through the years.
