ATHU Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) This Fujimi kit was started long time ago and now it's finally completed. I attempted to create a weathered post-race look. Hope you like it. Edited August 28, 2019 by ATHU
Peter Lombardo Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Looks great. I have done three of these (two coupes and a roadster) and every time I see them the beauty of their design blows me away........... just an absolutely beautiful automobile and oh so Italian.
Peter Lombardo Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Question, and not a big deal..... I went back to look at this build again and noticed, and maybe I am wrong, but are those Firestone tires on the car with a Goodyear sponsor logo on the car. No biggy, just wondering.

Thanks for your comment! You're not wrong it's Firestones. Initially I had used the Goodyear ones provided with the kit, but unfortunately they had somehow "reacted" with the plastic bag which the tires were stored in when the kit was put away some years ago. So I decided to use the Firestone decals instead. 32 minutes ago, Rider said: That looks the part very much, great job. Thanks very much!! Edited August 28, 2019 by ATHU

Scalper Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 great weathering job.. looks very real. nice work
89AKurt Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Very cool ?, I *love* the weathering! Wish more people would try doing it, gives realism that no factory die cast can ever hope for. I have one of those kits, but don't recall the funky mirrors, am I going senile?
Bainford Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Lovely build. Good looking weathering. Nicely done.
1959scudetto Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Great racer, Anders - the weathering shows the effect of running 24 hrs at Daytona Speedway!

Super Mario Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I am building the exact same kit that has the photo etch too. I want to do the weathering like yours; very realistic than being show room new. did you have a build log? How did you get the grime all over it? Looks spot on
oldnslow Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Beautiful rendition . This is the car I doodled my way thru high school drawing , was in love with it .
Gt fan Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Looking really good. Well done. Like the weathering.
Phildaupho Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Well done. Arguably the best looking Ferrari race car.
ATHU Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 Thanks everyone for your kind words, very much appreciated!!

I used an airbrush with low pressure and different shades of brown and grey acrylics to create the grime.
spencer1984 Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Awesome job on the weathering, that looks fantastic!
