The only peeve I have with builds - and I've been guilty of all the ones listed and then some - is rims not fitting "properly" inside the tire beads.

I can easily live with outsized paint metallics, odd colours, rad and oil pan seams... even body seams and less than stellar paint work. I've been guilty of all of those sins, and on more than one occasion.

But, to me, nothing draws my eye faster than a rim sitting far outside the edge of a tire. It ruins whatever look the builder is trying to convey, and I generally don't look past it.

Ditto. For 1/24 and 1/25 big rigs, this is the solution. 3/8" window backer rod. 20 FT for $3.56 at Lowes. Just stuff a length of it in the tire before putting on the rim. Provides just the right amount of tension to keep the tire bead up against the rim lip.

Man, that is a neat tip, I'll file that back for when and if I do a commercial truck or something of the sort...

One of my big pet peeves while building is thinking that the paint or glue is dry, but then you find out the hard way that it isn't!

I have victimized myself like that with glue far too many times... paint not so much, as my nose works just good enough to smell it.

This may or may not be what this thread is for, but it is started irking me, big time!
Trying to help builders on Facebook. You cannot tell them anything. No matter how polite, or carefully worded. Read it; then re-read it. Take a pause before I hit "send".
But the little darlings cannot be bothered to reconsider, or even research.
They won't even consider visiting this site, in spite of telling them of all the great how-to's and such.
Why do I even try?
Today's lesson to myself was suggesting that piano wire, or even a paper clip is fine for making hinges.
NOPE. "I ONCE HELD A TIRE TO A RIM WITH COAT HANGER WIRE, AND DROVE THE CAR HOME. IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME".
Okay, then. Excuuuuse, me. LoL.
BTW, that is an actual quote.

This tip was worth dropping into this topic!

A pet peeve, molded on window cranks on the door panel.  I figured out how to cut off, then remount and they can turn.  So the peeve is technology, apparently the video on the iPhone can't get downloaded. ?  Saw previous comments about photos on the messy workbench, guilty. ?  At least they are in focus!

I have never been on Facebook. Mostly because drama for the sake of drama seems like such a waste of time.

+1 million. Like a bad movie or reality TV, you get dumber looking at it. Tracking down a vendor in there is agony, wading thru menus/replies/dreck. I'm decent with social media, but I loathe Facebook and Zuckermann.

I thought of another pet peeve, and it really is a pet -- cat hairs. In the paint. And no, there will be no easy way to remove them. This beloved miscreant is the source. .

Ha. My dog is no longer allowed in the model room. Hair is becoming a big problem.

Haha... I can honestly admit that my beard hairs have found their way down to the bench.

Fmeep is uniquely un-catlike. He eats onions, sriracha sauce, blue Stilton cheese, garlic dill pickles, chocolate and actually enjoys baths. We stopped letting him play Monopoly with us because he cheats.

Lol...except for the onions and sriracha...he sounds like my girlfriend...?

Petpeeves..... the old,..... quote all pictures in a post so it takes up space and interrupts a post, ...just to add,  'nice build'... at the end...

I can see adding one pic to refer to, but if it's just to bring the OP's attention to the post, ya gotta get rid of the superfluous photos.

Maybe it's time to add it into the Rules of the board

Cheers

Are you sure that what is roaming around your house is a cat?

Might be time to call in an expert. :D

Roaming, no. More like lying in ambush. We're just training aids. :D

How long did the camera survive after taking the pic? the cat looks ready to mutilate it
