cobraman Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Not a bad little kit . Somehow I managed to miss sanding off the mold lines on the hood and trunk . Of coarse I noticed it after I painted it ! Painted Testors White Lightning . Interior red . Rear spears painted gold . BMF on some trim and cleared with Wet Look Clear . Painted centers of the wheels with MM aluminum . Also put a gold stripe on hood .
Lunajammer Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Neat. Glad to see one of these built up. I haven't seen how they actually come out.
Jim B Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Looks nice. Did you change the stance at all, or is that how it comes out of the kit?
cobraman Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 Thanks guys. The kit gives you two different locations for the axles. I used the lower for the front and the higher in the rear. I just liked that look.
Danno Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Well done, Ray. These curbside snappers make great relaxation builds or “slumpbusters.” Usually overlooked.
cobraman Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Thanks Danno. Less than a week start to finish. I was holding this kit to join in the 24 hour build but I found out we will be having guests so.....
Snake45 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Very nice! Your foil work is really coming along! And I like what you did with the gray paint on the wheels. Well done and model on!
cobraman Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Thanks guys . Thanks for your comment on the foil Snake . I know I’m not the best at that but man how I hate to foil !
57peppershaker Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Thats very sharp. And a lot to foil on a 57 Chevy. I have a few of these to build this year.
PappyD340 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 OOOOOh that's purty Ray, well done brother!
Tommy124 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Nice work on this nice snapper kit! But I would have liked to see what you have done to the front grille...
Cool Hand Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Tidy looking build Ray, like the silver, gold and chrome combo. Goes to show that with a little bit of effort a Snap kit can build up and look just as good as full glue kit
shoopdog Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Turned out extremely nice, love your color combo and wheel treatment. The Testors White Lighting and Root Beer are two colors that I have yet to use, going to have to change that.
cobraman Posted January 17, 2020 Author Posted January 17, 2020 Thanks much guys. I think I need to look at other snap kits for easy between projects.
cobraman Posted January 27, 2020 Author Posted January 27, 2020 Thanks, it really is a pretty nice kit that goes together well and looks darn good.
mustang1989 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 These old cars like this can drive a guy completely nuts when it comes to bare metal foil. Great work on this one Ray.
