Good news.  It was a horrific crash.  Jeff Gordon looked very concerned when they went off the air.

I'm sure many at the track had flashbacks to Daytona 2001.

Been doing a lot of praying tonight!

First race I decided to watch in three years!!! and this.

Been going to the races since I was 5 and Dad was the Valvoline rep and he'd take me with him.

I have never been so scared for a driver than last night. I thanks God it looks like he will make it.

Yep, wasn't going to bed until I heard some news on his condition. Was able to sleep better knowing he seems to be out of real danger.

He is in serious condition but I would like to know what his injuries are.   I would feel better....

Agree.....everyone wants to know. It's hard being on the outside looking in. I hope that by the time the evening news there will be more.

Awake and talking today.

Good to hear!! Ryan is one of the greater guys in NASCAR today! Down to earth and nice.. I guess most of them are..

I don't watch NASCAR much, decided to watch that race. And that had to be one of the scariest crashes I've seen in motorsport.

Glad to hear he's on the road to recovery.

ABC World News gave same information we already know with no list of injuries. For some reasons they don’t want to give his injuries...

Truly fantastic news that Ryan was able to walk out of the hospital under his own power 2 days after his crash. The photo of him smiling at the hospital w his 2 daughters before being released really are emotional

Looks to me like Denny Hamilin started the whole shabang Other wise Newman would have been the winner!

Most of the blame. IMHO,  goes to this new aero package. A  perfect wedge, sealed at the 3 sides becomes a wing when turned around.

Add to it....you are correct the 'wreck' started at the white flag but no one really wrecked until the end.

I am just so happy Newman walked out today on his own. Thanks God.

So glad to see him walk out of the hospital less than two days after being rushed there with most of us fearing the worst. As far as his injuries, obviously they were serious enough for the team and family to not want to disclose them and I can appreciate that, In this instant information age, being afforded some privacy is the right thing to do.

Whether he races again or not, that photo is two good reasons for him to do what he wants.

I agree with you Mike that Ryan deserves some privacy as it's not up to the media.
