m3fan Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 With all this time on my hands I thought I’d submit some pics. I hope you enjoy! First is the 40 p/u. Idea was to get low in the weeds so used a Art Morrison chassis from the wagon rod. Had to lengthen a small amount but other than that it drops right in.Replaced the bed floor with wooden coffee sticks Paint is my version of a candy apple red. Silver base, mica red, clear red then clear. Second is the coupe built box stock but with the Kelsey Hayes from the 32 sedan. color for this is a Jeep color called rescue green. Hard to photograph but a cool color. comment and critiques welcome
Koellefornia Kid Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Nice pair of ´40s! Both colors look great!
Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Outstanding pair!! I really like both colors!
Gramps46 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Oh yes, a couple of really neat '40s. I particularly like the wire wheels on the coupe. A very novel idea.
m3fan Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 thanks for everyones interest! Like I said I don't normally do this so its nice to hear comments.
espo Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Great looking pair. I like how you did the bed on the pickup especially the chrome trim. The color on the coupe isn't something I'd think of until seeing this and it looks perfect here. I like the Flathead engine here also.
gman Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Agreed- both kits look great. I've admired Rescue Green on Jeep JKs, and never imagined it on a '40...that works extremely well.
68shortfleet Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Very nice pair. I can't help but think how good that green would look on the PU too. Cate to share any pics of the WagonRod chassis under that truck? Could be the picture angle, but both tires look a little too far back in the fenders. I saw a 40 PU last summer that I want to build and the WagonRod chassis was my first thought.
m3fan Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Hi Jason yes you are right no matter how much you measure twice and cut once! Here is an underside shot didn’t think too many would see it so it’s a bit untidy?
Hmann68 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Beautiful Ford’s! IMO the ‘40 Fords make the coolest hot rods. Great work on both ?? and that green on the coupe is fantastic!
RAMBENNA Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 these are great, very nice job. great colors. really like the pickup

Sam I Am Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 WoW ! Those are beautiful builds ! I love the classic lines of the 40. Some people prefer the 32, some the 33-4, some the 36, but not me. 40 is where it's at.
stavanzer Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 That Coupe Rocks! Colour, Stance and Wheels, are all spot on!
Bainford Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 What a gorgeous pair of old Fords. I love the style on both of them, and nice colours too. Very cool!
Cpt Tuttle Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Two great builds, but I especially like the pickup where everything is so spot on, colour, stance, wheels, everything.
