Flatout Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 AMT 1929 Roadster body and grill on a AMT 32 Ford frame. The flat head is from the AMT 32 Ford Vicky kit, the heads and intake manifold are from the AMT 1950 Ford Convertible, and the carbs/air horns are from the Revell Tweety Pie. Wheels are from the Revell 32 Ford 5 window, rear tires from the Revell 41 Chevy Truck and not sure what kit the front tires are from. Paint is Tamiya TS-14 Black. 3
larman Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 That is super nice! The right parts, right stance, great build!
Modlbldr Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Exactly how it is supposed to be done! Beautiful work. I am studying this to see what I need to do for the one I'm working on. Thank you! Later-
Plowboy Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Very well done hot rod Pete! Just goes to show what capable hands can do with an old AMT kit and a few parts! Excellent looking model! I would take this rendition over the Revell kit any day.
Spex84 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Very neat, very classy. Nicely done :) Just goes to show how much can be achieved with old AMT parts! Those front tires are from the Revell Orange Crate kit, by the way.
Phildaupho Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Very handsome traditional hot rod. Well built with perfect combination of classic parts.

Thanks Roger...I agree, I’ve always thought the AMT 29 body looked better than the Revell. 19 hours ago, Spex84 said: Very neat, very classy. Thanks Chris...appreciate the ID on the front tires. 3 hours ago, Phildaupho said: Very handsome traditional hot rod. Well built with perfect combination of classic parts. gman Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Excellent period build, with a number of great touches (flathead + period speed parts, '40 steering wheel, glass packs, minimalist chrome). I love the look of the finished product- nicely done.
alan barton Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Nice work - you have shown to everyone that despite its age, the AMT Model A is still a pretty good kit that has passed the test of time. I like the Revell also, they both have their pluses and minuses. I particularly enjoyed the photo with the top up - that takes it right back to the fifties! Cheers Alan
Flat32 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) That is an accurate representation of a hot rod almost any industrious teenage gearhead could build on a gas station part time job budget in the late forties to early fifties. Glory years for the Ford Flathead V8. And they were quick. Pure fun to drive.? I often wonder how many were built back then. No John, a funny car is Not a Hot Rod. Edited April 17, 2020 by Flat32
carrucha Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Cool hotrod. Good work combining all of those parts from different kits.
