I heard that they're going to open up stores here in Eastern Pennsylvania mid June.

I was in Walmart the other day and their craft supply section was absolutely decimated!   I saw that Michaels had pickup service.

Mine opened last Friday. (the 22nd) Nothing new on the shelves. I was going to get something, but the lines to checkout were very long. I'll wait.

Stock was low....but I still found a few items....if they fully restock it will be a boon for hobby suppliers!!!

I was in one in SC earlier this month, about 5 days after it reopened. One of the clerks said that they hadn't had any replenishment stock since the week before they closed and the warehouse was working on getting orders picked and ready to ship. IIRC, they ship out of Oklahoma City, so it takes a while to get stuff moved around. Add in that a lot of what they sell comes from China and off shore and it may be a month or two before they have made up for missing shipments.

The Hobby Lobby I went to had no new models stocked but I was there for a couple of paint brushes anyway and they were 50% off. I used my coupon for a can of paint so got what I needed. Think I was the only customer in the store.

Yes Dave, shipping has been affected everywhere,  the only way you are getting stuff out of Japan right now is using private shipping carries, Japan and no, the new Mustang kit was not manufactured in Japan,  its manufactured in the Philippines, its stated on the side of the box.

All I can say is many companies I know are getting product from outside the USA. Affected, yes. 100% shutdown.......no.

I was referring mostly  to hobby products. How is R2 having product made in China and we will take delivery of a bunch of new stuff TUE?? Unless the boxes come in with a tag saying R2 moved manufacturing.....they came from China....multiple container!!  But whatever you say.

Checked the Port of LA CA.....traffic down 25% and getting containers through is slower than in 2019.....but everything that wants to dock is being handled.  I did not check all ports reports.

The stores in the NW suburbs are open again. I shouldn't have much trouble social distancing in HL - even before the pandemic the stores weren't very busy.

And no body , there were a good amount of open kits

Got this one for a good discount.  The only part pilfered was the T-bucket body.  I have plenty of those, so it was a pretty good deal.  I have scored many "opened kits" for 50% or more off from Michael's, A. C. Moore. and the former Roses store when they sold models.  I do get burned every once in awhile.  I picked up 70 Chevelle that looked to be missing the tires and decals (?); when I got it home I discovered the crook had slit open the bag and removed the engine and much of the chrome pieces.  So I have a body, chassis, and interior, with no chrome or engine; looks like it will be another short tracker.

Stopped at Deerfield today for more casting rubber; a few more people in there than usual. Nothing new or on sale in the model aisle; checked the clearance rack and found a lot of acrylic craft paints. Nothing else model-related but did get a two-pack of black Sharpie Extreme UV-resistant markers at a buck twenty-nine. There was an Iwata Neo siphon-fed airbrush still marked down to $59.95 from last year, if anyone wants to snag it.

Stopped in at the one in Fredericksburg VA yesterday to get some paint.  Shelves were pretty well stocked with plastic and assembly line diecasts.

I’ve been waiting weeks for the one store near my house on LI NY,but still,so far, they remain closed.

NY has some very restrictive re-open orders with huge fines if you fail.....may be safe/cheaper to stay closed.

Went to ours, last Friday, the first day it was open. Only 300 people allowed in the store at a time. Waited in line 10 minutes to get in, as the had an employee at the door counting people!

Nothing new  on the shelf.

Went again today. No employee at the door, but lots of One Way Floor Arrows. And a HUGE checkout line. 2 new kits on the shelves, also. The new Coke Willus Gasser and the '62 Pontiac Polyglass Gasser. Good to see, but no sale to me. I guess I'll wait another week and see what happens.

Nope my store is locked up like a bank.I wonder how much money they’re losing ,who cares? They can take precautions and safety steps to open, but they choose not too.Thats there problem.

The Hobby Lobby  in Fair Lakes (Northern VA) re-opened so I checked it out on Saturday morning.  Pretty good paint selection and lots and lots of retail priced kits of which I course I have multiple ones of the ones that interest me.  Spent $20 and just glad they are open so I can make a mental not of what they have which is ten times better than Michael's.   It thanked the cashier for them being back open and for her working.  I will be so glad we things get back to normal for everyone.

On another note I almost bought the Lunar Module and base kit since with a 40% off coupon it would only be about $18 which seems like a no brainer.  The only concern I have is the size (1/48)  and if anyone knows of a smaller scale kit that is pretty good please reply. Thanks

Exton, Pennsylvania opened on Friday, I went on Saturday. I’d been nursing my favorite glue so I bought some. Also bought two Testors Extreme  spray cans in greens to test for my Jeepster project.

Kit shelves were “optimistically full”. That means they fill the holes by moving stuff around and some kits were only one deep. There was nothing there new or exciting so I only got the supplies. Using my coupon I got out of there for $13.

Dragon makes one in 1/72 scale.  I don't know anything about it, but you should find some reviews online.

I grabbed the Monogram 1/48 scale kit as soon as I saw it in Hobby Lobby.  As you said, it only cost about $18 with the coupon.  Even if I never build it, it's worth that to me for Nostalgia Value.  It's an interesting kit with figures and other neat stuff.

Thanks for the info.  I saw an old Airfix kit on Ebay but I assume the molds are 50+ years old.  The Dragon kt seems pretty pricey so I hope it would be a better kit than the Airfix one.  I read the review on the IPMS site which gave a lot of info.  I did not realize the Command Module is also included so the price is not out of line as it seems there are a few things the reviewer points out that could be better but since I have not built a space kit in 50 years the Monogram kit is looking like a pretty good option.  If nothing else it's one model that will look better with not having to dust very often. ?

I stopped in HL today, and I couldn't believe it. The new Supernatural Impala already on the shelf! So I just paid $41 for a kit I could have gotten for less than $20! That really sucks, I thought it would be months before they got them.

I'm amazed they have them AT ALL.

Looks like a trip to HL for me tomorrow.
