keyser Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) No disrespect to OP. Like a kid asking if we're there yet every 12-15 minutes. Lots of 1:1 info in the early thread. Like having 3 41 Ford threads. Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do not remember their past are condemned to repeat their mistakes. dbostream Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 These photos were new to me at least: https://blog.jadlamracingmodels.com/2020/10/01/revell-1-24-scale-new-tool-e-type-jaguar/

I'm genuinely liking the sheer detail from the box they're offering. If I'm really good next year I hope they'll consider an Austin-Healey 3000 MkII as a companion kit.
dbostream Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 The big let down is the windscreen as has been discussed before but we can look forward to a nice OTS (would be surprised if they didn't make one). Still I will get one as soon as it is released.

BVC500 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Yeah, for my purposes close enough and Revell addressed the most problematic areas of other kits, but still...Revell is so inconsistent when it comes to body shape from one kit to another.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Hmm. Just for Ss and Gs, let's line 'em up, sized to the wheelbase: Now overlaid, aligned at door and hood jambs: Food for thought, allowing for some distortion.

I think a lot of the differences in the rear roofline and lower window contours has to do with the slightly different angles that both photos were taken. even 1-2 degrees will make a difference. Notice how all the upper surfaces of the blue car are higher than the red model. Or I could be off my rocker. I'm still buying one Edited October 20, 2020 by Mr. Metallic
randyc Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Agreed - I feel like I need this, even if it's off a touch here and there. THat looks dang close till you do the overlay to my uncalibrated eyes. Then not that far off. To me.
Fat Brian Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 The rear window on the blue car is also open toward the rear changing the viewing angle a bit.
dbostream Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 (edited) Side view looks pretty good actually it is in this angle the windscreen and roof look really off: Edited October 20, 2020 by dbostream
dbostream Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) Is this still planned for release in November? A Swedish seller has it listed for a January release I hope it has not been delayed. It is not up on Revell's website under previews yet. Edited October 31, 2020 by dbostream
Rob Hall Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Model Roundup also lists it as a January release.
absmiami Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Long story short. - looks really good. And it’s 24 th scale ... at least as good as the Heller and probably better ... whose going to be the first to build one with opening doors and rear hatch ??? Might be time to splurge on that wonder cutter ?
Jim Whalen Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Here's a couple pictures of a test shot I built for a magazine (Airfix Model World, current issue - December 2020) - normally I wouldn't do this on this forum but since Model Cars Magazine is only just getting going again I don't think I'm stealing any of their thunder (I'm really hoping MCM is going to be a big success, the model car building community really needs it).
Classicgas Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Dang that's nice. Kit is good enough for me. Must have.
peter31a Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Looks good to my eyes (which usually can’t see the faults people mention). Love the silver/red combo.
Bainford Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Looks great. I'm getting quite excited about this release. It appears Revell phoned in the tires, but then, it is Revell. Otherwise, it looks like a fine kit.
