RSchnell Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I'd like to know what happened to the '56 Buick they were planning on bringing back. An email to them about it got no reply. 1

OldNYJim Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Another little update from Atlantis on that one: The color they chose reminds me of the color the Rommel’s Rod was molded in! 2
Mr mopar Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I was hoping the burnt copper would be better then that !

Can-Con Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I hope they do another issue with regular chrome plating.
peteski Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 (edited) Are those "copper" parts even plated? To me they look painted with (burnt) copper paint. Steering wheel looks like it is "gold" plated (likely standard aluminum metalized plastic with clear yellow top-coat). Edited November 3, 2023 by peteski
Mr. Metallic Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Just for some possible clarification, Burnt Copper is different than straight up copper. It typically has a slightly mottled or tarnished appearance which I think the production sample shown by Atlantis simulates well.

Per those at RM many years ago. A clone could be done....but not what Atlantis does right now. Add to it licensing issues with original builder.

The original builder of 'T' is alive and a bit 'Different' fellow that has been planning for 15 years to make a new model kit of the car. He is also known for litigation.....the perfect storm I bet Atlantis has no interest sailing into.
tim boyd Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 The Uncertain T tooling hit the scrap pile, probably in the late 1970s per sources I trusted at Monogram when i posed this question about 25 years ago.... not only that, I have a theory on why the kit might had never been reissued (beyond licensing issues), as explained at the following link....TB Building the uber-rare Monogram Uncertain T album | Funman1712 | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy. 4
OldNYJim Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Next car kit from Atlantis, presumably…posted on their Instagram today: 5

Snake bought it from Ivo. 1

Vettegasser Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Waiting on the poison pinto. Lookin forward to it coming out 1
Richard Bartrop Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 I have a bunch of Model A engines, I've accumulated for all those Revell '29 pickups. I think I know just what to do with this. Those engines will also be very useful. 8

Phirewriter Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 (edited) I picked up a couple of the Rattler kits and the plated tree is closer to clear red over chrome. The "chrome" was very difficult to strip as well requiring at least 2 rounds in the strip tank. Glad to see this kit out but very disappointed that Atlantis didn't just go with chrome.
