Howard Cohen Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Many years ago I bought several model cars from a man in Ontario, Canada. He had built these model cars many years ago, late 60s and early 70s. He did a lot of scratch building and a lot of painting by hand. Although the cars may not be award winning models, they are all unique as most of them are one of a kind. Here are a shots of some classic customs...enjoy Magician Corvette Illusion Ultra Rod 32 Ford Golden Indian Devilfish
'70 Grande Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Thanks for sharing these pieces of history... they are an incredible look back in time! I think my favorite is the Ultra Rod.
spencer1984 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Some very cool stuff, thanks for posting these!
espo Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Considering the time when these were done they still look like resent builds. The body modifications all look very smoothly done and the paint still looks perfect. This person was or is a very accomplished builder.
doorsovdoon Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 I like those. Always interesting to see the techniques and paint methods of early builds.
Mr. Metallic Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Dang, that replica of Alexander Bros Limelighter 60 Pontiac is pretty nice for the time it was built. Cool stuff
Spottedlaurel Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 They're great to see, fantastic for them to have survived and for us to enjoy them now.
Snake45 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Very nice stuff, true survivors! You're lucky to be their custodian.
Peter Lombardo Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 This is the kind of work we used to see back in the "Golden Era" of model car building. Back before the internet when you were luck to get a few pictures out of a Car Craft or similar magazine, and you were even luckier to find the pictures printed in color. Very nice group models. I think they meat more to the fledgling days of model building than most of us could even know. Great collection, keep them safe, because they will not be duplicated now.
pack rat Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Award winners or not, there's a lot of good work there. Good to see them preserved.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Kool builds, thanks for sharing.... -RRR
