Casey Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) Out in February 2021, six new 1000 piece puzzles based on recent AMT box art, priced at $14.00 each: Edited January 27, 2021 by Casey
iamsuperdan Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 I dig it. We do puzzles quite a bit to relax. Usually Star Wars or music related ones. But I'm pretty sure I can get one or two of these thrown into the mix.
Dave Van Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Interesting........more a collector item to me than something I'd do.
steveracer Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 This is awesome. Wife and I build puzzles during the winter months, currently on a Road America aerial view with lots of trees! Gonna get us one of these when they come out. Support the industry.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Interesting, this could also possibly work as a puzzle kit combo, in a tin perhaps.
Oldcarfan27 Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 I'm really surprised they didn't capitalize on the theme and sell the ones in Coca-Cola boxes. 1
espo Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Sounds like a good marketing idea. We'll sometimes have a puzzle going this time of year, so I'll be looking for one of these.
PappyD340 Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Nice, I wouldn't mind picking up a couple of those myself.
AMT68 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 This is a very good idea by Round 2 especially given the retro box art they've featured in recent years. Wouldn't mind seeing the '69 Olds 442 or the '70 Monte Carlo as a puzzle.

Expand I've read that due to Covit-19 puzzle sales are souring, so why not use the art created for their kits, for this. Also if they put a flyer for their kit line into the box it can open the door to new customers, cuz puzzles are also sold n outlets which don't do model kits. Edited January 29, 2021 by Luc Janssens
cobraman Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 I found a couple Cobra puzzles some time ago but I never tried to work on them .
espo Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Great looking puzzles and anyone who has done puzzles is now looking at the background area. That will be the challenge on these but that's why you do puzzles in the first place.
mk11 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 (edited) Most current box art does less than nothing for me... let's see some classic stuff made as puzzles even if it's not strictly amt Edited January 30, 2021 by mk11
AMT68 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I agree that the Revell Nomad on the beach would make a good puzzle. Always liked that one.
slusher Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I would buy one to try. This I expanding the brand and this is good...
Greg Myers Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 some of My Jigsawplanet Puzzles I've been doing this for years, enjoy

Some vintage box art would be a great idea, but I think they are keeping it limited to kits which have recently been, or can be reissued. Still, they have a deep vault from which to choose box art: I want nothing to do with building these kits, but the box art appeals to me:
Jon Cole Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Oh, I'm getting in on this... if I can find them. In a model rut, so I have been building puzzles.
doorsovdoon Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 It's a great idea... wait, maybe not, there's so many AMT box art pictures I like I worry I'll buy as many puzzles as I have kits, probably more so! Lol

Been a long time doing a puzzle for me until this fall when I picked up a few for a friend of mine that is home bound. One of his favorite movies is Jaws. They had a few Puzzles at Ollies that were movie posters. Yes Jaws was one of them so I grabbed him one. Great poster but a vey hard puzzle for our old eyes. It came out great and so will all of these Model car Puzzles. Too many Chevy's for my taste, Why no Buick Riv or and Olds?
