These early Lindberg kits have a reputation for lacking detail and accuracy but they had some pretty cool box art , which is the reason I bought this one .  This kit has quite a few parts compared to the other Lindberg kits and some parts have some have decent details molded in but most are typical .  All I added was the plug wires and a firewall .  I did miss a few simple things like the windshield and roll bar not fitted properly because I was working so quickly , still it was a fun little build ! :)

Here's the contents of the kit .

That turned out great, Bob. Looks like a neat little kit. I’ve wondered about those Lindberg racer kits for quite a while. I may have to hunt a couple down.

These were about as basic a kit as there was at the time. Your build looks very clean and matches the box perfectly. Well built in my mind.

Hi Bob!

Very nice, and period-correct. Bravo!

Is-it me, or is the deuce frame enjoying a slight "kick-up" in the front?  The parts lay-out pic suggest that, but I would prefer your insight...

That just might be the nicest build of  a Lindberg roadster that I've ever seen.  Sometimes box art is all you need to make it pop. You really know how to make a Lindberg pop!

I restored one many years ago but it does not look anywhere as impressive as this.  I chose a light mauve spay can but while the paint came out all right, the colour does it no favours at all.  I am currently restoring the T roadster they did. After seeing your cool version i really need to look at this model again.

Funny how so many of Lindberg's 1/25thish models were copies of AMT models and also how the box artist never really knew what he was painting.  The picture here shows a beautiful rendition of a 29 A roadster when the kit wants to be a 32 , except for the Model A gas cap!

They called their Model A bucket, copied from the Ala Kart, a 29 Model T.  Maybe because it was a Model A front and a Model T rear?

Then they had in their 1/32nd range a 34 phaeton with a Model A grille.  The box art shows a Model A phaeton with a 34 grille!

Cheers

Yes it is , and you could say that the rear spring is de-arched giving the car a nice lowered look .

Yep the Lindberg kits were all over the place as far as box art and parts go , even the scales don't match at  times . The body on this one seems to be 1/32nd but the  chassis and wheels & tires appear to be 1/24th scale .

Great box art build! It looks like a fun kit to build... Sometimes less is more and this is one of those times and very reminiscent of those early days of racing also...

Looks great. Funny sometimes the simplest of kits can look so good.

Thanks guys !  The older kits can be fun if you ignore the inaccuracies and just build'em . :)

LOVE it!!  I built several Lindberg kits in 1/32 scale when I was young as they were affordable on my allowance.  Beautiful job!!

This is very cool to me; there's something fun about doing a box-art build! Now, grab a modern kit or two and show us how the "real" car would look in 1/25 scale, it would make a great companion piece, same colors, same wheels, same everything - just more real.
