Gerald Haney Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Finished this one in December 2020. I used the Fireball Modelworks F250 conversion parts. I also used Fireball Wheels and Tires and cab lights. Weathered the body using the salt technique and frame and undercarriage with various pigments and washes. Saddle Rug front seat cover, Yosemite Sam floor mats, and a bandana from the rearview mirror. I added plug wires and a fuel line and filter. I named this one the Holler Matriarch, because when nobody else can get out of the holler she can get you to town to get the Bread and Milk! 1
Tom Geiger Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Super! Just a great “good ole truck”! Very realistic and believable.
espo Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 The "ageing " of the finish on this is one of the most realistic looking I've seen lately. The chassis conversion looks great. The seat covers are as seen in most older trucks that have lived a hard life like this one.
Captain Spaulding Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Great job on the Ford, really like the weathering you did.
larman Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Wow! Great job! Nice weathering and dirt. Also nice work on all the detailing.
chevyman Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Superior job on the weathering, looks like a real Michigan truck, looks so real
BeakDoc Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Man!, that is outstanding! Fantastic detailing.I’m really liking what I see of the models built with that Fireball conversion kit.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Superb truck, very realistic weathering effect! Look like the guy put a newly rebuilt 390 engine in this good old work horse, it will be good for another 50 years of hard work! ?
vincen47 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Wonderful work. I really like it. How did you do the seat cover? That’s a great addition.
bisc63 Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Especially love the interior, very authentic Ky. clay and mud ground into the mats! Great exterior finish, just not rusty enough for a Ford of that vintage!? Under-hood is mighty clean, too! (I live in KY too, I know how dirty these things can get, quickly, in or out of the holler...) Well done model!
Kromolly Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Awesome build. I'm glad you posted this, I wasn't aware of the Fireball conversion but I will check that out. I'm a big fan of this vintage Ford 3/4 ton. I love what you did with this one, looks like so many old Fords on the road that will never die or succumb to a CAN-bus failure that renders it as useless as a brick.
Classicgas Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Wow! That could easily pass for real. The seat cover, is that a decal?
mchook Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 WOW, amazing job all around! But you know me, I love that weathering it's just the right amount. Great job!
Gerald Haney Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 Thanks everyone I appreciate all the comments. The seat was done using a image I found on google. I reduced it to scale and printed it out on a color printer, it was then cut to fit and white glued onto the kit seat.
Doug 1061 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Very nice. This is the best looking F250 conversion I have seen here, you got the front axle centered in the wheel opening. Makes a big difference. Weathering looks nice. You might want to get a bungee cord over that battery so it won't end up in the fan?

I never thought of it on this build. thanks for all the comments.

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I like it!!! Excellent work! The weathering looks great!
