johnz Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 another t street rod, what can i say? I like street rods.amt body with shortened pickup bed amt frame modified here and there.nailhead from revell model A made a dual quad manifold so I could finally use the cal custom scoops I've been hanging onto for 50+ years added some details to the block casting old revell parts pak radiator and grill shell radiator was widened for better cooling wired and plumbed. Was going for the look of aT built maybe in the seventies then upgraded over the years, the questions and comments welcome.
echo Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 Outstanding "T", engine detailing is very realistic, overall great build .congratulations on using the Cal Custom Scoops on a worthy subject.
Fantom Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Outstanding!! I think this is the best T bucket I’ve ever seen!!
Snake45 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Very, VERY nice! You got the proportions and overall "feel" of the thing exactly right. I think this might be one of my favorite T bucket models I've ever seen. VERY well done and model on!
Smitty Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 A classic T-bucket. You really nailed the look! Awesome attention to detail throughout, but that engine.....gorgeous!
Kromolly Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 That is absolutely fantastic. I love the choice of the nailhead. Just a wonderful job there and a great looking T rod. Superb!
#1 model citizen Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Very nice! looks like the 50 year wait to find the right subject to use the Cal Custom scoops was worth the wait! The linkage looks to be spot on scale wise, a feat that most fall short.
Dennis Lacy Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Freakin’ RAD! Killer details and perfect stance & proportions.
Spottedlaurel Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 That's fantastic! If I think of what a T rod should look like you've captured it perfectly. Love the green paint and how you've carried it through onto the engine and running gear detailing.
Zippi Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Nice looking. The color fits right in for the year you were going for. Great detail work.
Grumpa Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Very cool Build John! Impressive engine detail...even a "tranny" dip-stick...nice addition. Question. Are the header brackets part of the kit?
johnz Posted April 3, 2021 Author Posted April 3, 2021 thanks to all for the comments.mark the headers are from mpc's fire truck,i cut them apart so i could fit them to the nailhead added the mufflers and flanges.screwed up on the bolt pattern should be just the opposite of what i've got but it was too far along by the time i noticed it,oh well

Minor error (which I doubt anyone noticed) aside...this is probably the nicest "T-Bucket" model I've seen. One of the things that sets it off is the use of the 50yr old scoops. Those alone add so much to the engine!
larman Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Beautiful job! great color and nice work on the engine and detailing!
papajohn97 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Really gorgeous and tasteful bucket T model! Looks like a real one you photographed at the GNRS! I particularly love the engine detailing (carbs, fuel lines, linkage, throttle return spring (guitar string?)) and those beautiful cal custom scoops. How did you do the chrome parts on this build (metallic paint? Alclad?)? Great job in making the chrome/ bare metal look real and avoiding the model car “toy” chrome look.
espo Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Beautiful looking T Bucket. Lots of great detailing of the engine and the chassis as well. I love the rear tires, they're never wide enough on this style.
