Did this Dodge in parallel with my 59/60 wagon project and it helped fill the time during the drying delays on the wagon.  I usually start with built-ups in worse condition but this one was actually in really good condition other than having to remove the skirts and source a replacement interior as this one had the dreaded glued-in cloth interior.  I've never found a way to remove that stuff and have anything decent left afterwards.  I used Scalefinishes Mocha and Tamiya X-10 Gunmetal.  Lots of foiling/detail on this one with BMF and Molotow.

Beautiful looking Dodge. You were lucky to find that nice of a starting point. The rear wheel well openings must have been a challenge with that glue damage.

Great looking Dodge Rich.  This is one of my favorite cars as I used to own a 1:1 '59 Dodge Coronet.

Very nice, Rich - which interior did you use (the X-EL promos at least didn't have one) ?

I used the interior from a 59 Fury.  I used part of the Fury body as a donor for the 60 wagon project so I found myself with that interior available.  Fit beautifully, although I had to add some 020 stock to both sides to fill the gap between the body and the interior.  I'm ok with cheating a bit with authenticity... it ends up in my display case anyway ?

That is a great restoration Rich! And it's something that's rarely seen! Nice work!

Nice job on the Dodge.  Always liked the long stretched out cars with the big fins from back in the day.

Thanks for posting your photos. So many of the cars from this era are so strikingly cool but so seldom seen. Great save on a vintage kit.
