Joe, I am sorry for your loss.  I just got back to doing things in my room and mine died September was a year ago. You still have your dad. I am going to keep you in my prayers…

Deepest, heartfelt sympathies for you and your dad. Lost my mom in 2015 unexpectedly and suddenly. It's a shock, and hits hard, no matter your age. It has a way of making you feel like a little kid. I had to make the call for unplugging life support, dad and sister couldn't bring themselves to it, even knowing it was exactly as mom wanted should she ever come to that state.

I’m so sorry for your loss Joe.I know it hasn’t been easy. I lost my mom a few days after Christmas last year and it has been really hard.I will definitely keep you in my prayers?

Thank you all for your very supportive comments. Things like this have a way of putting life in perspective and things are getting a little easier to deal with each day. It's taking some time to get back into the normal flow of things but I'll be slowly making my comeback into modeling and back into the forums.

You fellas are alright in my book and thanks again so much.

My condolences on your mother's passing and hope your father is doing well in this difficult time.

I fear that I will be having to deal with this issue with my own mother in the near future, she doesn't have covid yet but she is slowly failing because she refuses to get proper care.

Condolences on your loss, these things are never easy. The Mustang is looking fantastic, I just started the same kit and I'm really impressed with it so far. Your dash and interior are excellent, and the wheels look great. Mine will be Brittany Blue (or as close as I can get with a craft paint mixture), with a blue interior, and if my interior looks close to the quality of yours, I'll be very happy.

Thanks Mike. I really appreciate your supportive comments bro and  I'm hopeful that everything goes as well as it can for your mom.

I appreciate your comments as well Craig and will be looking up your build if there's a thread on it.

Right you are brother and I have been. Took the 383 stroker motor out of my truck and dropped a VERY well built 406 SBC in it.

Thank you as well Lee. I've been back at the bench for a couple of weeks now but am just now getting on the forum.

Managed to get the decals to lay into place after a 1000 coats of Microsol.

BMF progress...

I then moved on to the fire wall which I had a definite problem with. I have the floor mats installed in the floor of the interior but will need to slip the interior tub up into the body when I get to that part ....someday. lol

The problem with that is that I would've had to figure out how to get the floor mats on top of the foot boards of the interior. as well as to slip the body around the firewall "wings".

Check it out:

Image

I decided to see if I could approach it from another angle by installing the firewall onto the front of the interior tub and slipping the whole thing up inside the body in the final assembly stage. The problem with that is that I would have to stretch the body around the firewall "wings" I was talking about. NOT something I care to do.

Image

So I merely cut these off. I'll come back to this later when I have the body installed and figure something out for some covering on the outside of the firewall.

and here we are with the engine installed onto the chassis. Gonna run some brake lines from the master cylinder, a vacuum line from the brake booster to the back of the carburetor base plate & install the fan and we'll be pretty much done with this part.

I just found this thread, your attention to detail with the interior is remarkable.  It's going to be a great model and I will continue to watch your progress.  Well done!

Thanks Guido, Carl and Ian.

Carl: I've always liked Acapulco Blue.

Ian: Thank you for the very kind and encouraging words. I'm really enjoying putting all the extra TLC into this car.

Got the color on the modified hood.

Looking good, Joe! I have this kit and looked at it but it looked very challenging in black plastic. Maybe I'll try it sooner or later but it won't be as nice as yours!  I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Joe, I just wanted to say that I too am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother.  Your mustang in blue caught my eye, but when getting caught up on your earlier posts, I came across the news.  Best regards to you and your entire family, Tim

Thank you for the kind words JR. I'm very certain that you will do this kit more than justice.

Thank you Tim. It's been fairly tough the past month or so for me to get motivated enough to make it back to the bench but I'm coming back around as I really want to finish this , taking my time with it of course, and then getting back on the Platt Maverick build that I started.

I lost touch with this build, just catching up. Model building excellence here, Joe. Very clean and tidy. The blue looks fantastic. I'm a vintage Mustang owner also, though for some reason, I don't seem to build them often. The stash is full of them though, so I should tear into one.

Thanks Trevor. I know right??!! I've owned 3 of these cars and one 89 5.0 LX and my dang screen name is "mustang" for cryin' out loud. One would think that I would've already built one.....or two of these.
