I did some work on this yesterday but after I finished it just looked "off". I ended up removing the brake lines because they were .022" solder and were waaaaaaaaaaaay too big scale wise.

So I backed up, regrouped and used the appropriate .015" solder I had. Dunno how I mixed up yesterday but we're on the road to progress now.  I managed to get the brake lines, vacuum line to the booster and master cylinder cap retaining wire installed. I may come back to that rear brake line and re-tweak the bend in it to match the front line but here we are at this point.

Well.................I had some time yesterday and the humidity was low so I spent a little over an hour prepping and applying the gloss coat onto this puppy.

Here she is after the clear shoot. No polishing or anything just yet and this is the turnout. To say that I'm very well pleased with this would simply be an understatement.

Looking mighty fine! The blue looks great with the clear on, and the engine detailing is well done!

Thanks Craig. Your Mustang turned out tops. Love the color you chose on that one.

Just beautiful Joe, I’m glad your doing better, it’s been a tough year for you!

Thanks Roger. It's been pretty crazy alright but am getting through it all one step at a time.

This morning I finally got the PE grille and the fog light system put into place. Have to touch up the fog light chrome but will wait until I’ve got everything on the car so I don’t risk messing the touch ups up with excessive handling.

Well…here we are so far gang. Got the lenses, bezels, fuel cap and license plate installed. I will go into more detail on the rear bumper in the next post but I made some much needed changes to it. My plans are to strip the chrome off of the bumper and re-apply in lieu of the mods.

Here’s the latest…

Hi Joe! I’m trying to get caught up on all the awesomeness that I have missed. Beautiful work here my friend, fantastic attention to detail, VERY clean. That clear coat looks killer, smooth… This is going to be a real beauty when she’s all assembled.

Cheers, Steve

This is really looking super nice Joe , excellent work !  Your paint and extra detailing are really making this one stand out .  One thing you might take a look at is that "Floating Alternator" , it needs some kind of bracket . Nothing fancy just a strip of plastic on top from the alternator to the water pump is enough , put a couple of small bends in it and it will look factory . :)

Thanks Steve. I really appreciate the kind words. I'm really looking forward to the finish line and am fighting back getting in a hurry with it.

Thank you for the comments and the suggestion on the alternator Bob. I'm not one for the mystical floating alternator effect either. I couldn't really do anything bottom side but I did manage to install an adjuster bracket (even though it's not a true factory part) on the top of the alternator to the water pump when I built it.

Finished up the rear panel this morning. I've never really liked the lower bumper guards on either side of the license plate on these cars so I stripped the chrome off of the bumper, cut those off and smoothed everything out. I then began the Alclad re-chroming process. All in all I'm REALLY happy with the turnout....
