happy grumpy Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Build from the Revell kit, added some loose parts around and in the car. There is something about junkyard cars that is almost artistic. Decaying witnesses of a long gone era. The rust texture is a mix of paint and baking soda. The lighter shade of rust is pastel chalk powder brushed over. Again, thanks for looking 1
Zippi Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Hot digity dog Mario. That looks pretty darn good. I like the chain laying across the fender like the ole boy that had this car was either getting ready to pull the engine or maybe he sold it and someone was on the way to pull it somewhere else.
TransAmMike Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) Safe to say that one lives in the rust zone? Great and impressive work there Mario? Edited December 2, 2021 by TransAmMike
Safire6 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Very realistic looking! i like the side view mirror hanging from the cable and the board sticking out the window. Great job!
vamach1 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Great job and probably a lot more work than laying down a glossy paint job with clear coat. Nicely done.
Ulbo Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Wow absolutelly superb and rusty one ? Very real!!!
espo Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 The like the way this has been distressed. The finishes all look very realistic. Sort of like a car parked on the beach at low tide and then set out to rot.
Painted Black Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 If the body is that rusty, I hate to see the floors!! Great job on the weathering.
1959scudetto Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Fantastic rustbucket Mario - I like the headlight haning out of its cave!
Olskoolrodder Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 WOW, man that looks great, very nicely done
Bills72sj Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 That is quite impressive. It looks like a genuine Rustang. If it were real, the gas cap would be long gone.
tbill Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Wow! Very well done, love the headlight just hanging out, the chain, the mirror……, very convincing. Fantastic rust as well, for the longest time I wished I could lay down a smooth glossy paint job, now I wish I could do the weathered distressed look. Great looking build!
AMT68 Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 That is an amazing distress job and the awesome background completes the theme.
FLHCAHZ Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Extremely well done!! It saddens me, but extremely well done none the less
mchook Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Amazing job on the rust! I love you backdrop too. Thanks for sharing it with us.
bogger44 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Man that poor ol' Mustang had a hard life. Amazing job on the weathering and love the little things like the mirror hanging off the door. I also like how in the last few pictures it looks like it's sinking into the ground like it's been sitting there for decades.
