tbill Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Finally had some daylight time to take a few pics. Finished in Marlboro maroon and tan interior. I used the wheels from the AMT 70 impala, everything else was in the kit. Built up nice , highly recommended. It is the yenko version kit, this kit has a way more complete decal sheet than prior issues. thanks for looking. 4
'70 Grande Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Agreed... simply stunning! Your pics can so easily be mistaken for a 1:1! I've always thought this generation of Corvettes transformed quickly from a powerful muscle/sports car "look" into an elegant/sophisticated sports car "look" with the simple wheel swap you did with those '70 Impala wheel covers... outstanding work!
happy grumpy Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 The 69/70 model is IMO the best looking corvette of the stingray generation. Your model just confirms it. The photography is on par with the excellent craftsmanship of your model. This is a stunnig model you have there Tom. thanks for sharing it
TransAmMike Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Oh yeah Tom, that looks faaaaaan-tastic??
Classicgas Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Stunning. Wheels technically are not accurate for a 69, but they look great on this body style.

Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 You're right. It really is a great kit. Mine is one of the favorites of my collection. Your build looks amazing.
tbill Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 Thank you all for the very kind comments, very much appreciated. as to the wheels/hub caps, I did some online research, and it seems that style hub cap was called a deluxe wheel cover and was available from 68-74, now, weather or not the info I found is accurate, I can’t say with certainty, but, the wheels in the impala kit were close enough for me, and let’s face it, probably most of the classic Chevrolets we build end up with rally wheels, and I wanted something different this time around ( not to mention detailing rally wheels is a pain , lol) . Here is a pic I found online of the wheel cover,
tbill Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 Thought I should add a chassis pic as well

espo Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 I like the color combination and the paint finish looks great. Nicxe clean detail painting on the engine and chassis. With the white wall tires the hub caps you used look very nice.
Bainford Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Beautiful Vette, Bill. Very clean, and the wheel choice gives it the perfect period vibe. Very nice!
AMT68 Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Wow, that is beautiful and the color combination gives me an inspiration for my build of this kit in the future.
Zippi Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 That is such a good looking vehical man. Love the colors. What is the interior color?
NOBLNG Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Very sleek looking ride. I love that colour on it! ?
Bronzekeg Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 turned out great Tom. huge fan of the wheel covers.
